How many roads must Ganguly walk down Before you realise what he really is? Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail Before she sleeps in the sand? Yes, 'n' how many times must the blatant lies fly Before they're forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind, The answer is blowin' in the wind.

An Well Orchestred Campaign Against Ganguly is Still on and it is quite obvious rediff wants to keep this controversy live. It is the bread and butter for the rediff cricket. No harm in it. However it is painful when a person with all the ingredients of becoming a national hero is targetted by these cricket posts and some foolish Indians rejoice on the occasion. They become blind, these jealous guys. It is always better to neglect these rubbish stuff and enjoy the game. Thanks
The whole article is idiotic. Sachin almost had the same team under him what was the result. Winning a series in Pakistan is so easy? When was the last time it happened? A series draw in Aus. is something India can only dream in the past or in the future as well. Performance by Indian players were at peak only because of a tough captain. How different is a 2007 WC team from 2003 team? What was Dravid doing there?
Today's evolution of Yuvi, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan and many are due to the captaincy of Saurav (Others like Nehra, Balaji and many others did better under his captaincy)
Inspiration by captain counts more than his own performance.

Because Ganguly fans and left politicians are taking Indian cricket for ransom. Dravid Sachin Laxman Sehwag are suffering.
Ganguly is undoubtedly one of the top 2 captains in Indian cricket, and probably in the top 5-6 captain in world cricket teams. Ganguly did not have good pacers, spinners (except for Kumble), a wicket keeper, and all rounder. So if some one concludes that he was surrounded by good players, he must be dreaming.
it is Ganguly who made Dravid to keep the wicket for winning one-day matches. Dravid was very unhappy, but he knew otherwise he would have been dropped. He had to accept fragile pace bowlers, such as, Ashish Nehra, Balaji, Zahir (ti certain extent). He developed and nourished Yuvi, Sehwag, and Harbhajan under his wing.
In comparison, now we have Dhoni, Karthik, Sreesanth, R P Singh, Munaf Patel, Gambhir, and youngsters like Piyush Chawla. India has more talents now than before. We need to nourish them with proper care without getting into Greg Chappels's mode of intimidation.

u seem to b giving credit to ganguly for almost all players' success.......how bout dropping him from the team n appointing him team manager?? ;-)
I think the writer is the representative of Greg Chappel who had done destruction of Indian cricket team.Chappel was arrogant, partial, irresponsible coach who with the help of Kiron More had done a great blunder to our united Tean India, As a result we had to pay for it. Rediff should not allow to publish such rubbish article which may lead to controversy among the people of India.Ganguly`s potential as a captain is unquestionable, unparrallel.
Well even God has HIS critics, then why not of our great Dada. The writer has given so many valid points, where these points somewhere look more like his own feeling than a fair criticism. Infact it would be good if i counter some points of the writer number by number :
1. While u say that under Dada's captaincy the players like Sachin, Rahul and so on played, that's why he achieved great success. Now if this is the point, then Steve Waugh is the worst captain in the history of cricket because whatever he achieved its due to best team not his capability. Moreover, under Azhar captaincy, the players like Kapil, Prabhakar, Sachin and so on played, still he couldn't achieve great success.
1. If u deduct India's success against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh (a childish argument), then u stop calling Kapil Paji's 175 knock against Zimbabwe in 1983 world cup as greates knock. Moreove by saying it what u want...India loosing against Bangladesh and Zimbabwe???
3. Well under Dada's captaincy, atleast India made it to finals of World Cup 2003 and Asia Cup, rest could n't even cross first hurdle of same tournament.
well final say, DADA was the best captain of India and will be, atleast Rahul doesn't have even 25% of What Dada has in him.
And yes, this writer seems to 'Chela' of Greg Chappel.

Dada is the Great captian and will remain as one of the best captian ever in cricket history. Dada had played his part and made the team strong and confident under his captiancy. Dravid is ok but he is not like DADA. Becoz DADA is great.

Gangu fans tell about victory and leveling 3 match series an Australia. one match drawn.
Arre... and about the match we won...
that time Gillespie was only bowler, all other star bowlers were rested by Australia. Bowlers that time were, J N Gillespie, B A Williams, S C G MacGill, A J Bichel, S M Katich, S R Waugh
How many overs he can Bowl?
Dravid first inning 233 runs Laxman 148 runs. Dada ? 2 mere runs
second inning Dravid 72 sehwag 47 and our great Bengal Paper Tiger 12 runs......

No wonder even now the quota system(thanx to 5 selectors)is existing in our Kriket!!C'mon guys, rise above petty regionalisms,India winning is the most imortant thing, rather than hoping ,a dada or a dravid performs.

Your judgment is correct. No doubt SAURAV WAS ONE OF THE BEST CAPTAINS INDIA HAS PRODUCED SO FAR. IF HE WAS AGGRESSIVE, HARS WITH OTHER TEAMMATES, IT IS NECCESSARY SOMETIMES NOT ONLY IN CRICKET BUT IN ALL WALKS OF LIFE. BUT WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN THIS QUESTION. HE IS ENJOYING HIS PLAY. LET HIM PLAY.WHY PEOPLE R AFTER HIM ALL THE TIME.

I do not agree with you. In fact Dada's record was pathetic in last leg of his captaincy. Can you list his achievements in the last year of the captaincy? Was it not because the absence of Tendulkar because of injury?

In the last lag of his captaincy his record got worse because of 'divide & rule' policy of Chappal (not chappel). This guy (Rahul) turned puppet of chappal and so did few young faces. As a result, team's performance had to take a beating!

What about before Chappel became Coach. I do not think chappel was the coach through the last year of Ganguly's captaincy.

Dada is clinging to be in brachet of Sachin Dravid... That is only way to survive. Just try to remember when he took on quality attack and thrashed them into pieces...
UNFORTUNATELY NONE MY DEAR.... HE IS AVERAGE MUCH HYPED PLAYER.
Fantastic job Rediff. You lick other country stars' ass but defame our Indian stars. Great job!! I wonder why Rediff is getting so third rated these days. Without any reason you publish shit just for the sake of it.
