Kaif was never allowed to settle down in the Indian test team though he impressed with the chances he got.It was always making way for a senior, established pro.He lead India to glory in the under 19 world cup in 2000, still only he and yuvraj from that side made it to the top.Sad to note that he has been sidelined due to lack of form and there are still others surviving purely on history.Hope he'll bounce back and when that happens will be able to serve India longer.

what a frickin joke reading kaifs interview- the guy got the most chances to perform but he will score only against mediocre attacks at a pathetic strike rate- cant bat for nuts, he can only field well, we need good batsment not frickin fielders who fart with the bat....so just chill dude, keep playing for your ulta pradesh and get some frickin runs first

Kaif should be thinking along the lines of how not to get dropped.

0. Technique improvement [watch videos', work with support staff, prepare for upcoming series]
1. Consistency - i.e Score runs
2. Staying fit [physically and mentally]
3. Positive attitude [can do attitude]

This is your job and you are paid for it!

You got lots of chances, Mr. Kaif
by Jayesh on Jan 09, 2007 11:12 PM

Remember the streaks of zeros (there were 6-7 zeros in that many innings). Still management persisted
with you. Don't forget that. It's upto you to
grab chances and prove your worth. Be consistant.

'used to getting dropped'?
by N.Nagarajan on Jan 09, 2007 11:04 PM

Mr.kaif,

'used to getting dropped' ?.Pl.dont talk philosophically. You should be 'used to show some consistency'. No doubt you are a very good fielder. But what about scoring runs? we expect more runs and that too at crucial circumstances.

Kaif should be picked
by Misbah on Jan 09, 2007 10:39 PM

Kaif is an outstanding fielder n batsman whose immense talent has been wasted by shuffling his batting order from 3 to 7. he should be given a consistent run at 3 or 4 to consolidate the innings. Kaif can be a good leader as he has already proved by captaining in U-19 world cup, so he has to be groomed for the top job of the indian cricket. Kaif, Ganguly n Laxman should be picked n out of form players like sachin, sehwag has to be dropped.

Kaif should have position in playing eleven
by Sunil mahor on Jan 09, 2007 08:40 PM

Dear All
I wish to give your kind attention about the heavy load of indian team like dravid, sehwag, laxman, tendulkar, ganguly, wasim jaffer even they are not in form they picked up bcoz they have big name. Kaif is a kind of batsman like dravid so how can we afford 5-6 dravid in the indian team.
Better is this if any player did not perform in consecutive 2 series should be dropped from the slot weather it is tendulkar or dravid.
We should hard in selection just like Australia and player should show some moral character in playing. If they are not getting run they should withdraw themselves and chance to given to next one as nassir hussain did it for new comer vikram solanki.
but its india here everyone want to be in playing eleven wether he is scoring run or not.

Nothing can be changed and hope to do well in comings

regards
sunil

Kaif be prepared for World Cup
by Altaf Chougle on Jan 09, 2007 08:12 PM

Kaif should be in World Cup as he is a good fielder. He should be given a permanent slot for batting. He can score single and is able to convert singles into doubles. If compared to Virender Sehwag who is out of form he should be considered. Sehwag has been given more chances than Kaif. He had scored 3 fifties in West-Indies. He deserves to be in World cup

I m sure u will be back..kaif,,just keep working hard..
by T.PRABAKARAN on Jan 09, 2007 07:12 PM

It is unfair to drop kaif from the team..he is always been the victim for a player to be dropped on behalf of some other player's entry to the side...He has been given only one match to play to prove his worth when the team is in horrible situation when other players enjoys the permenant place..when he fails to produce results everyone seems to drop him from the side..if that is the case how can one expect him to deliver...

take for instance.. coach greg...has brought in suresh raina instead of kaif saying the guy has lot of talent..and dropped kaif..whats the result that raina produced in south africa one day series and the previous series b4 south africa tour..now he has been sent back... for promoting raina , kaif dropped.

what is the situation now..if coach and captain looks for performances then i m sure the first man to go out was virender shewag to regain his form..as with the case of pathan...i once thought in the ongoing series , pathan should have been played instead of shewag, wherein pathan is in good form with the bat scoring an 100 in the 3 day game..and also could have been useful at some part of the game with his bowling...so kaif dont worry man u will be bac
