if you score runs it makes you a good individual player and not a team player and you are a selfish batsman. then what do all the batsmen need to do to become team batsmen?? not score runs?? man, get a life!

Hey,
I heard in this news items that Md Yusuf and Anil Kumble exchanged words before Yusuf got out.Has the commentators or any media covered what the issue is all about.
Anil Kumble is a cool guy with a very good temperment. I am surprised to hear that he got into an argument in the middle.
Please through some light if any one has any clue.

Thanks.

Because he has a word with Kumble and then he was out thats why Kumble Phyced him...like u wan to say Yosuf is a bacha playing gully cricket....
India is not getting wickets and Kumble looks into Yosuf anf Yousuf said something back to him....thats wat happen in next over he was caught. That was not a gud delivery but Irfan got the wicket because yosuf doesnot use his footwork...

yousuf is a bacha playing gully cricket, but you certainly are a bacha in this forum.why did yousuf go at a wide delivery, because he was over eager to prove a point to the indians who had been engaging him with a war of words.

The Afghan army entered Monday in the capital district of Musa Qala, detained for ten months by the Taliban in southern Afghanistan, told AFP a spokesman for NATO.

"The Afghan army entered the town of Musa Qala," said AFP Major Charles Anthony, spokesman Forces International Security Assistance (ISAF) by NATO.

Asked if she now controlled the entire district, the spokesman replied: "The Afghan army has at least entered the capital."

In a statement, the spokesman of the Defense Ministry, General Mohammed Zahir Azimi said that Afghan forces backed by NATO entered in the district of Musa Qala "and not the agglomeration itself, then the joint forces that are already in the district since the beginning of their offensive, officially Friday.

"The clean-up operations are underway," added the spokesperson.

India's bowling
by Ranjan on Dec 11, 2007 01:34 AM  | Hide replies

Going into a match 2 fast-medium, and 2 spinners is not right. If The team needs 7 batsmen includinng a wicket-keeper, to BE in a match, Tests with India will be all run-makimg, and little bow;ing-aggression. No one wins matches purely on batting. Incisive bowling is a must. If you can not have 5 bowlers, you might as well stop[ dreaming of victories.

For now, they have lost the bowling ablilities, coz of injuries. They have to start bowling first, which I think is not gonna happen as they are aging up, before we can pick them up.

by Sandipan Sen on Dec 11, 2007 01:10 AM  | Hide replies

Kiran More and Greg Chappell tried their best to banish Sourav from the India team. But their success was temporary. Now Sourav has given a fitting reply and both Chappell and More hide their faces. Even the man who surrendered to Chappell and showed tremendous ungratefulness towards Sourav finds himself almost out of reckoning for the australia tour.

a double hundred in test cricket is always great, but it was scored against a weakened bowling attack.although the innings itself was beneficial to the indian cause.

Karthik needs to improve
by True Indian on Dec 11, 2007 01:06 AM  | Hide replies

Dinesh karthik needs to hone his batting skills a lot, really a lot. He had given up his glove work for a while to open the test innnings which he is not good at. Now, the batting is gone and his glove work too.
I think he shouldnt have been tried as an opener at all. He's not a natural opener. It doesnt really come to him.
Yes, he did score well in England. I dont agree that he played well. Actually he played with more determination and guts than with the technique.
I think he's good at middle order and wicket keeping. He should be persisted with that option only. Don't push someone to open where we have the likes of Gambhir and Virendar Sehwag are waiting.
One bad decision on karthik puts his career at cross-roads. I hope he will come back good like Parthiv Patel.
I want Dines karthik to create tremendous pressure on Dhoni for middle-order batting and keeping but not on the likes of Jaffer,Gambhir or Sehwag.

Vengsarkar wanted to finish Virendar Sehwag's career persisting Karthik as an opener but he did it for Dinesh Karthik.

"Dinesh Karthik is not a natural opener"..

And Viru is?? From when did "natural openers" start slogging without moving the feet?
To be fair to both Viru and Karthink, unfortunately there is nothing called natural opener these days. Then Jayasuriya and Viru would have never opened in Tests.

Why do we still have this crappy form of cricket when there is One day and 20-20. I find it funny when people say "its a true test of character" . Thats complete bull plop ! Agreed thats its challenging to play 5 full days in a row, but you bloody sweat for 5 whole days and in the end no result. Everybody just shakes hands, pats each others bums and there is no winner (Only losers who watched the match). What a royal waste of time. There should be a bowlout at the end of a drawn test match to decide the winner.

Does our board have anything to do with this? Are they ensuring that India is going to win the series(as they have not done it in 27 years against PAK) pushing for these dead pitches in the 2nd and 3rd tests?

BCCI alway does this dude. They always make dead pitches in India so that our paper tigers can score some runs. They don't even make a turning wickets to help the spinners, BCCI is only interested in money which it gets when the batsmen scores lot of runs and dumb fans support them.

Test cricket is one of worst game in the world.
