Who is better?????????
by Mahesh Dave on Aug 18, 2007 06:56 AM  | Hide replies

Dravid is a better batsman than "Tendu"...
Dravid made 12 run in 96 balls and "Tundu" made 1 run in 11 balls in third test at Oval......If "Tendu" want to make 12 runs than "Paper Tiger " had to play 12 times 11 = 132 balls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also "Slow Tendu" should have to bat at # 8 or # 9 so he can play without pressure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And suit to his "Old age"!!!!!!!!!!!

Mr Dave.. If you are so frustrated with the state of BCCI and Indian cricket, why dont you stop watching the team play and join the ICL.. The REBEL league... i think u'll be fit for that..

Mr. Mahesh Dave, ur comments on tendulkar are really upsetting me. If u can\'t appreciate the genius then atleast keep ur mouth shut. Don\'t let us know how much u hv got it in ur head. people like u can do nothing but bark. And by reading ur stupid comments, i\'am damn sure that no matter u must be watching cricket from last 30 years or whatever but u do not understand the game and there are many more simpletons like u here in this forum. I feel very sorry for them. Sachin was great is great and will be remembered always as the greatest cricketer in the world.

We are more interested in ICL players than BCCI players
by Srinivas on Aug 18, 2007 03:08 AM

As per article the Lion's is a strong side because of the experience of their team members. But all of their palyers are less experienced vis-a-vis Indian team. Article tried to make a grabber. The article has just one line of information: " Dhoni leads in the absence of Dravid and Ganguly will replace Dravid and may come at third position." Why is rediff not covering ICL players? We are more interested in ICL players than BCCI.

younger ones
by Ajay Kumar on Aug 18, 2007 01:47 AM  | Hide replies

give chances to younger onces so that they get more exposure in intl ckt. players like Manoj Tiwari, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara shud be encouraged to play with seniors and to learn. Manoj had been included in the team but out due to injury, Rohit has been in team for odi and 20-20, Cheteshwar Pujara finished as the Under-19 World Cup's highest scorer with 349 runs at an average of 116 n consistently performing for Ind-A. give them encouragement.
dont repeat the mistakes done as in case of Ambati Rayudu.

So long as our board keeps to the present mode of "selection", the players mentioned by Mr.Ajay Kumar will not get a chance - in spite of or despite their performances.

It will require rebel leagues like ICL to change their thinking. Even then, they will delay things to the maximum.

A word on Ganguly
by abinash kumar singh on Aug 18, 2007 01:44 AM  | Hide replies

Since Ganguly is the point of discussion , let me put across a point on him. After returning from the forced hiatus, I have noticed a strange trait of his and the trait is that he plays fast innings in Tests(vs End at Oval), and slow innings in One days (vs Bang at the WC). Anyone would like to comment?

i think what u observed happened with Azhar also, during his last playing years. But at least, Ganguly is showing grit while batting compared with other batsman.

do you mean even ganguly like azhar is involved in match fixing??

We all know, how azhar played dirty politics with tendulkar and snatched back the captiancy.. Even Ganguly is following azharuddin and we all know what will happen next... History repeats

vikram. i meant only on the issue i.e. of batting style of Ganguly as observed by Abinash and my observing Azhar's style. No comparision of fixing/politics meant.

even viv richards statistics is good.. why is he not playing??

dude can you please put the same statistics for Sachin in recent 4 year... that too while india chasing.. I doubt if he is averaging even 25 while india is chasing during past 4 years...

also please stop arguing that he has hit century in 1999, 2000.. bla bla.. We all know he was a very great player.. Even now he is a good player.. but definatley in his present form he is not world class.. and please for god sake dont compare him to bradman, viv richards etc

"Tendla" is losing his charm which he had set in late 90's and early 2000 ...he should retire gracefully like Lara, Steve Waugh, D Martyn, S Warne.......

Tendla's prime is over......
Even "newcomer" Kathik is playind better than "Tendla"......

Simple, because this man, who did the most difficult job in this country cleanly & successfully over half a decade which none of his predecessor or successor could do even with a fraction of his efficiency or transparency, doesn%u2019t belong to the region or state of most of the message posters here. Though these people at times a single person with multiple ids coupled with terrible mental sickness (mostly call center workers of a particular region) doesn%u2019t even make up a molecule to oppose the huge support base of cricket spectators all over the country and world who adore and respect this great son of this country. So don%u2019t worry about Ganguly he his going from strength to strength, only to the helpless frustration of some sick morons at rediff.

by Bharti Dutta on Aug 18, 2007 01:13 AM  | Hide replies

I just cant understand why people are after Ganguly when he is not the captain, playing better than most Indian batsmen and trying to stay away from all sorts of controversies.
