What hell has Dravid done here. Not to opt for follow on - why? Even if England scores a huge total in 2nd inning, the match might have drawn. then what is the sense in not enforcing follow on. he digged the pit, and he himself fallen into it. Should have shown much more courage.

india 's win a fluke
by harrison dhas on Aug 14, 2007 09:22 AM

i would rank england as the best as compared to india. Indian lack consistency. It was a narrow escape of defeat by the indians in the 1st test. 2nd test England batted poorly added with aggressive bowling by zaheer khan. 3rd test both the teams performance were equally good except the 2nd inning by indians. This is where the indians lack - consistency. Today they'll score 600 runs, next match against bangaladesh they'll be all out for 90. IT means they lack dedication and committment.

The India-A team is showing a few surprises. It is time to have this team challenge the main team for places-every place. The test shd be consistency.Give each of the main team members a run of 6 innings-batsman shd deliver 50 runs per innings or 40 and bowler 3 wkts per innings average. If the main team guy does not deliver let the A team guy take his place.Every place shd be open.No favourites or demigods.

Critcizing Winning Team

The Fans are right, If they had been bit aggressive they would have won 2-0. They had England looking up in heavens and counting stars till the three days. But strangly they decided to do a bit of that themself on day 4. Absolutly naive decision of not impressing follow on. Two lessons form this episode
1. Dont take oldie manager who is going to play too safe.
2. Either have an aggressive captain or teach him to be aggressive and positive.

real reason behind dravid decision
by deepak raj on Aug 14, 2007 09:10 AM  | Hide replies

well everyone knows the real reason behind Dravid not enforcing the follow on.He knew that were 6 seasons to be played and if England played for 4 or more session and esp if someone by name of kp would have played bulk of the innings then india could easily be chasing 150 or so on a fifth day pitch.do you guys really think after seeing these jokers for more than 15 yrs that they would have made those runs..just see wht happened to mr tenzerokar and dravid in india's second innings here and countless other occasions.
Well guys i think Dravid made the right decision.Atleast deep down these morons wht they are worth of after playing 15 yrs of cricket.
So my fellow indians u pleasantly watch these jokers play day in and out while i watch the real champ (tiger woods) really show wht an real champ is all abt.
best of luck ..and njoy watching ur heroes in action on cricket field.may u live and njoy this mediocary forever.
hahahah.....

Yes Tendulakar is motivating all other batsman to play like him also score like him in 2nd innings.
Time to say Mr. Tendulaker to think on this. Indian batsman looked to playing for draw in 2nd innings and leaving Ganguli & Laxman they looked to negetively influenced by the fact that they are batting in 2nd inning.

We should learn from aussies.
by Libran on Aug 14, 2007 09:02 AM  | Hide replies

They take don't go with this 'series' mentality. This series mentality is seriously wrong. Our feeling is we need to win the series- that is important. Aussies don't think that way. They try and mostly succeed to win every match. Previous match is a history. They don't rest on their laurels. That is what we need.
I was shocked when our team said in Bangla: we have won the series, but we will not take it easy-that means taking it easy is an option for them.
That is what makes the difference beween the Good and the great. India at best may be good, but never great not because we lack talent - but because we lack the attitude to win. When I was saying and lamenting about Rahuls decision-some one wrote that I am thinking negative. Actually don't you think deriding the negative attitude is really positive.
