Its good for the people of India that Ten sports is gonna telecast the Windies tour but this decision is unfair for the people of Chennai cos they do not get to see the matches. Everyone cannot afford a set top box, but everyone would love to see their heroes play. So the board has to think of the people of Chennai and grant the rights to DD too.The Treasurer of the BCCI being a Chennaite should raise his voice and fight for the people of Chennai.
am happy that we can view the full match....bcoz with DD telecast we cant view the full match, in between some action wil be missing.....DD makes so much money and they dont even bother about the quality of the telecast...its a right thing done by the court by giving rights to TEN SPORTS.
It is good. Infact in DD it is always advertisement series with least time alloted to criket. Even in the All India Radio (AIR) it is the same case. They seem to be bent upon earning more money forgettting basic value for the sports.
see if a channel is a pay channel it shouldnt telecast advertisements.this is the rule in most of the countries.but channel like tensports will get money in both the forms.who asked them to buy rights giving such a huge amount of money.cricket is for every one to enjoy. people from chennai will only undestand the difficulty.we need to spend 5000 rupees to buy a set top box and pay rs.10 per month to watch a sports channel.if CAS had been implemented in all the states most of the channels would have become free channels by now.and thers is nothing wrong with the guidelines of I&B ministry.these kind of guidelines are prevalent in many countries eg.australia.
Lets face it guys...Ten Sports with their state-of-the-art technology gives cricket lovers sheer delight as compared to the fuddy-duddy channel of 'DD'.
DD truly lives to its name - 'DOOR-Darshan'- delight from AFAR.
At the most crucial moments of the game, DD goes into a commercial break - after all its their moolah which matters more- which is simply agonising to any sports/cricket lover.
Come on DD, buck up before you really become a faded memory amongst the history of channels!!!!!!!!!!
It's a good move by the supreme court.. The private channels are spending in crores to get the rights.. If DD is really interested in sharing the feed it should have gone for the BIDS.. It should have also even viewed the Formula1 races when Narian Karhtikeyan raced last year.. but it didn't do so.. It primaraly needs to earn money using the advantage it free to air.. and telecasting to people without cable network is only secondary
It 's a welcome decision for the Channel and the viewers at least they get to see the best.DD though has reach has to utilise its resources and improve its marketing strategy to bid in open marketing for sporting events.
