Booing to Sachin inexplicable
by Harris Shaikh on Mar 23, 2006 04:20 PM

In one simple word if i were to define the very essence of Indian Cricket it would be Sachin..an if in one single word i were to describe the booing to Sachin in the recently concluded test match against England it would be Inexplicable..agreed India lost miserably..the crowds were disappointed at not having their money's worth and this is where perhaps this demeaning gesture to Sachin stems from..is every single thing so materialistic such that we fail to understand and honour even the best criketer this country has produced..a thousand fingers are pointed today at Sachin for his below par performances and every one including the person who wrote this article has a thing or two to say about sachin..and not necessarily good ones..i want to ask all of those who question the ability of sachin,as to what have they achieved in their lives to come even remotely close to sachin's achievemnts..perhaps your numbers might go in the negative and i believe that answers..no doubt sachin has been failing for sometime,he is no longer the same,he is fallible and so r others..who gives you the right to snatch away his playing rights..for me its only the selectors to decide..

Be Supportive... it is always easy for people to shout when things go wrong...
by Valliappan on Mar 23, 2006 04:19 PM

Yes you were correct almost, but just take a look how england bowlers bowled in the second test, if they were that unplayable as mentioned by you, we couldnt have even made runs in second test and also in the last 1 hour of the 1st test. it is easy to come out and shout when something goes wrong.. i strongly feel the decision to bat second was wrong... and if it was otherwise you may well have written a word of praise for the indian team... I accept there is a loss of form in Sehwag, Sachin, Harbhajan but they have proved they can come back strongly.... Be supportive when the team needs support....

Why sachin should retire. Now we are in need of Sachin, why because he is a positive motivator to the team members of indian cricket team. With his presence in the team will gives a bosst to Players.

The man to who indian cricket management should remove is Sehwag and Gambhir.

No complaint from Sachin.
by Vivek Patwal on Mar 23, 2006 04:18 PM

The hooting of Master blaster Sachin by Mumbaikers is not good. Sachin played for country since 17 years , when he played well that time he was hero and now zero. Its not a good farewell for a World class player.
I think Sachin is a great player and its great honour for India that he is Indian.

Why so much cries? This was a game and the team playing better won it. What we expect from a game and why to spend so much time on discussion 'what happened; why it happened?' Please leave it. We have many other things to do.

I can easily imagine that you were one of those idiots who booed sachin in Mumbai. Do crowds in Australia boo Shane Warne when he gets hit by Sachin? Believe me mate, I love cricket with the same fanaticism that borders on obsession. Let me begin by saying that I did not think even for a second that all that India had to do was to turn up to win the series. We made the mistake of inserting them to bat in the third test. It was a mistake. It happens to the best but mostly to Nasser till date. So when the Indian team takes bold aggressive decisions that resulted in 4 days and one session of intriguing Test cricket, we should applaud Rahul Dravid for doing what he believed. India could have chosen to bat for a draw on the last day and three years we could have said"India v/s England. Series result 1-0. Flintoff bowled well and so did Hoggard. Most of their batsmen got good Indian pitches to bat on. What a pity we did not use home advantage to the maximum and play in Chennai and Calcutta. Series ended 1-0. But should have been 3-0."

You dont boo Sachin and say you eat, sleep, and breathe cricket. You watch Golf on TV, eat chips, and report to work at 9:30 am sharp.

Sachin should quit
by Diptarag on Mar 23, 2006 04:15 PM

Money,Money and Money.Sachin knows that his endorsements shall vanish if he quits. So he will cling on till the selectors are forced at gun point to sack him. With his recent performance,he cannot get into any team, barring Kenya,Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

third test
by sambhaji on Mar 23, 2006 04:11 PM

we dropped so many catches that caused us the defeat. and those who booed sachin are a bunch of jokers who had been gathered there for just entertainment & don't understand the meaning of sports.. i mean, this is just a third instance when sachin has scored below 20 at avg. it may happen with any player. so why is this hooplaa then?

Mr Lavakare, pls dont insult us genuine cricket lovers, by calling urself one,ur a disgrace to the cricket fan's community. I wont be surprised if u were one of the Sachin booers, coz only men with half baked knowledge like u could do such a thing. Yes India lost, but is it necessary to put across so many half truths. U wrote on and on about Pathan's failure, why didnt u write about Patel's and Shreeshanth's emergence? Or about Anil Kumble's lion hearted bowling? I have seen ur so called cricket analyses, and if ur a cricket analyst, then i guess i am Dan Brown. The only thing i find in ur cricket analysis is to keep cribbing about Indian players. Why cant u find some thing positive for God's sake? I have a suggestion, pls dont put out ur half baked theories on cricket here. England B Team, what the hell makes u say that, Flintoff, Pietersen and Hoggard were not B Players. The worst thing is not India losing a Test, but having to listen to half baked experts like you. Stop writing about cricket for God's sake, and concentrate on doing PR work for BJP, ur better at that. Whats this u have against Indian players, first it was Ganguly, and now its Sachin, who next?
