He is not the first
by Sunil on Feb 28, 2006 09:29 AM

Hi, Please verify your facts. He is not the first Kashmiri who may represent India National Team. Before him, Vivek Razdan has already played both forms of game for Indian National Team. Recently Suresh Raina, who also has his roots in Kashmir has made a great debut.

Hi Abid,
My best wishes are with you to break into the Indian Team this year itself.Greg will back you up to the hilt, you know.I hope you have learnt all there is, from your coach,Ahmed, Dennis Lillee & from your own observations of great cricketers.
My tips for you to succeed at the International level:
1.Stay obsessed with fitness.Do all it takes to keep fit all the time.Learn also how to relax your body & mind.
2.Develop the accuracy of Glen Mcgrath, fast inswinging yorkers of Waqar to be mixed with late outswingers of Kapil, slower ones of Venkatesh Prasad and intlligence of Wasim in sizing up a batsman.
And you will have reached your own Zone !
All the best.

Vivek Razdan
Suresh Raina
are Kashmiri's who have played for India.

With Kashmiri Hindu's kicked out of Kashmir, journalists have convenietly kicked them out from the history too. Great!

First Kashmiri??
by Vikram Soni on Feb 28, 2006 02:26 AM

First Kashmiri? I doubt that....Vivek Razdan and Suresh Raina are both Kashmiris who have played for India....
Where you stay or which team you play for does not determine your ethnicity...i am from Calcutta but am not Bengali, similarly if Razdan and Raina have played for other domestic teams, that doesnt change the fact that they are Kashmiris
