After a long long time, selectors have chosen a perfect team. All the players deserve their places in the side. If they have picked the same team for Pak tour, result (In test) might have been in India `s Favour. Anyway, better late than never. GOOD JOB.
A bunch of bootlickers (of Chappel)like More, Dungarpur and Dravid have finally tossed commonsense out of the window and dropped the most succesful captain of India.
Watch out Mr. Dravid, history repeats itself and the same fate will befall you.
It looks the wise men rightly called a "bunch of jokers" by Mohinder Amarnath prefer to have "broken elbows" in the team along with "young legs" looking towards the future. This statement has been made with all due respects to Sachin Tendulkar. I guess the same rule should apply to Sourav Ganguly as well - as he is not far behind in terms of the quality of his game
Why Dravid and Chappel hell bent on making Ganguly exit very unpleasent one. Hope Dravid will not face same agony in near future. May be It is upto Ganguly. (Time is not on his side. Thanks to spineless Pakisthan performace.Dravid and Chappel are now untouchble for any negative remarks.) Wether to try to fight back to team and bare more insults or to resign and accept the fate.
hi , I just wanna stress out one thing is .........ok the selectors taking a right decision But Dropping role model in the team not good because every team incuiding the newly looked Bangladesh has there role models like spinner mahumd rafique. even world team too suffered due role model ie., mcgrath at the VB sereies against srilanka which lost to bangaladesh recently even they too experimented much .so the result is what we say .
The selectors' mind has gone whacko with their picks. They talk about getting young blood but how many "young" people do you want in the team. You cannot just expose a young player to the rigors of professional cricket too soon. Youngsters like Piyush and VRV Singh do not deserve a test place call just because they did good in the U-19 W' cup. These talented youngsters should be groomed properly, give them time to mature and the opportunity at the right time. If these youngsters do not do well in the first few games, firstly, it will form an intimidating scar in their mind at a young age and secondly, our stupid selectors will put a stamp of "bad player" and push him into the background. Balaji, Murali Kartik and most recently Gambhir are prime examples. Its good we currently have so much talent but they should be used wisely. I think there is definitely place for ganguly as one of 3 senior members in the team. It is when things go bad (which wil occasionally) that their experience will be necessary. Also, Zaheer & Gambhir need to be back too. All the new comers should plan their entry to international arena wisely or very soon they will bite the dust like many players in the past
Mohinder was right in calling Indian selectors a bunch of....
Proof No. 1
They selected VRV Singh over Munaf Patel
Pietersen's stroke-filled 47 contained seven fours and a six. He retired hurt due to cramps.
He hit paceman Vikram Rajvir Singh for 22 runs in an over, including four boundaries and a hooked six.
Munaf on other hand took 5 English wkts.
But they selected VRV over Munaf Patel
Proof No. 2
They selected Kaif over Ganguly. Kaif in his entire Test Career has avergaed 21.92. When the big 4 (Sachin, VVS, Sehwag and Dravid)failed to fire in 3rd test v/s Pak it was Ganguly who forged crucial partnerships with Yuvraj. Later in ODI Kaif avergaed 4.33 and yet he is in the team
Ganguly being dropped for the Ist test vs. England smacks of inconsistency in the selectorial policies of the BCCI. For one thing, it was never clear why he was picked just for two games in the first place during the IND-SL test matches and then it was even more confusing when he was included for the IND-PAK series ahead of Kaif. Now, Ganguly's been dropped again and Kaif re-inducted.
Based on pure performance what's Ganguly done that's so unacceptable and why's Kaif getting so much leeway ? Worse, More goes on to say: I think we have done very well in one-dayers ...The Board has decided to give these youngsters a chance. Since when has performance in one-dayers become the criterion for inclusion in tests ? Finally, Ganguly's exclusion was a bold move even when Yuvraj was playing well. Now, that Yuvi's not even in the picture for the Ist test, dropping Ganguly is a massive risk that the selectors are taking. But, I'm not sure they're even thinking along these lines. All that probably matters to them is keeping the BCCI President happy and consequently ensuring that their job security is guaranteed. It's really sad to see Ganguly being treated this way.
