I donot know how you can make a comment that Saurav 'could score only 37 and 34 respectively in the two innings he batted in the third Test, which India lost by 341 runs.'
Could you please tell how much our great batsmen made in those innings ? What was the contribution of the 'little master,'great wall' and 'master blaster' ? How they performed in the crucial juncture ?
Sourav could not make a fifty or hundred but even than also he could not have save the match.He was the second highest scorer in both the innings you mentioned and looked most positive among all the indian batsmen in both these innings(Check the newspaper during the last test in Pakistan).
Nobody in the new board and team wants Sourav in the playing side....not because of performance or any cricketing reason but because of ego and politics.It is known to everyone.
But it is of abject shame when your reporter also joins the bandwagon and belittle one's performance and contribution. India is a land of treachery and ungratefulness and turn-coat-ism. It dumps its heroes at the blink of an eye. The rediff team again proves this truth through its biased reporting ! Shame Rediff shame !!
It appears to be intentional not to take ganguli in team. This is not a healthy way for droping indian captain who has definately performed very good in his carrier. He could have find place in place of VVS Laxman,kaif who was nor very good in pak Vasim jaffer. The selection committee is definately prejudiced again ganguli on whim of a foregin coach.
Actually the word "Team India" born in Sourav's regime as the captain of the Indian Cricket Team. It was the most glorious time in the history of Indian cricket. As the captain of Indian cricket team won maximum nos. of matches and also could unite the team as ONE - existance of which was not at all there in any of the indian team led by any captain. He went above all the provincialism and picked up players from all the zones/states whoever found playing good cricket. He always led the team from the front and never backed out like his predecessors - putting all blames on his soldiers. He also made heaps of runs in both forms of the game. He has more than 10 thousand runs in Oneday matches. In spite of having all these qualities he had to be sacked from the team as captain though he made century only the game before. When everybody in india/abroad opposed Greig Chappel as the coach of the team. Only he was the person who chose him as the coach for the bestment of the Team India. That was his first fault (if it is so).Then came the most shameful chapter of the game cricket. Chappel, the coach who wanted to rule over the team created such an environment which led Sourav go out of team
with yuvaraj missing ganguly should have been included. Sharad pawar will make indian team the MUMBAI team and nothing more. good to see sreesanth and chawla in team. but kaif?
