Warne the Wonderman
by P.Venkatesh on Dec 21, 2006 07:03 PM

Warne is the cricketer who makes you sit & watch every one of his deliveries. He does not need support from the pitch & plays the mind game aggressively. He is the bowler who has captured the majority of top order batsmen & adept in breaking well set partnerships.Let him have a controversy-free retired life.

The One & ONLY Shane Warne.
by Atul Vaishnav on Dec 21, 2006 06:54 PM

News of retirement comes as extremely shocking as I am his diehard fan, happy and relieving for the current batsmen all over the world, but amazingly unselfish for the Cricket Australias young talents of spin as now they will have a chance to play for the country and don the baggy green cap with an idol so large and standards so high to match with along with a tremendously cunning and sharp thinking mind which always thought of outthinking the batsmen of this universe.

I wonder if anyone can enjoy more seeing a batsman getting clean bowled round his legs by any other bowler than The Shane Warne.

As correctly summarized by Paul Collingwood, he is the ultimate cricket legend.

I doubt anyone can take his place ever.

What a man!!!! He lived & enjoyed his cricket and lives & enjoys his life in almost the same fashion Always On TOP of everything.

I will always miss Shane Warne when Australia will play.. lifelong.

God Bless You for giving us such a joy and inspiring us through your dedication to cricket.

Leg Spin Bowling & Shane Warne will live together till the end of this universe if there is..........

Incredible...inspiring...Warnie
by Victor Fernandes on Dec 21, 2006 06:53 PM

Shane Warne sure has been the greatest bowler of our times. He sure revived the art of spin bowling when every bloke in town wanted to be a fast bowler.Playing against Warnie........is a battle....a battle of nerves........of skills...of test...of technique and of grit. 8 times out of 10....Warnie came on top.
I sure will miss to see him spin the ball like a top which had a zillion revolutions as it was shown in slow motion replays................time to bid adieu to the greatest leg spinner of all time...........thank you Shane for your contribution to the game................u only made cricket more exciting.

GREATEST OF OUR ERA.
by Sunil on Dec 21, 2006 05:57 PM

Shane Warne's name will be taken in same breath as Sir Don Bradman's taken by older generation.Fortunate to see one of the greatest, flamboyant, winner, aggressive player during our times. Also one more quality possibly which no one possesed is that never shied away from a challenge,ex even when he was hammered during INDIA'S tour whenever bowling was given to him he always was positive & tried his best.People may say his record in INDIA is bad but the truth is it is moderate compared to his gigantic achievements every where.

Hats off to greatest player i have seen in my lifetime.

Incredible Warne!
by P.K.Ganesh on Dec 21, 2006 05:45 PM

The world discovered the bowling equivalent of Don Bradman in 1992. And now when it is time for this legend to hang up his boots, the world yearns for more from the magician. For all his off field controversies, his genius on the field will always be a marvel for generations to come. His every delivery was a thrill to watch, the fact that he was not an Indian was small matter. His contribution in making Auatralia the force it is today is but one of the many acheivements in this master of leg spin bowling's incredible career. He leaves behind a huge void not only in Austarlian cricket but in world cricket, which would perhaps never be filled.

WE WILL MISS YOU
by Idhries Ahmad on Dec 21, 2006 05:26 PM

I feel very sad today as If something very dear to me has been taken away. I cant just belive that I wont be able to see Warne swerving, spinning, dipping, sliding and at times bouncing that cricket ball. We will all miss you. You have provided us the best entertainment of our lives. I have only one request for you. Dont turn to commentating. Teach people this mystic art and become a guiding light to young boys. May be one day you will give us another Magician.... One like you

Shane Warne
by Lancelot Tixeira on Dec 21, 2006 05:16 PM

He was the one you wanted to watch when Australia fielded.

One of a kind considering the length cricketers go to be successful nowadays.

It is a pity he stopped short of being a youngster's role model because of his off- field exploits.

Way to go Shane - at the top of your game - on your terms.

Thanks for all the on field entertainment.
