by BraveIndian on Jul 09, 2008 07:03 AM

WHERE EVER THEY GO THEY TRY TO REPRESENT THEIR RELIGION. RELIGIOUS PERSON SHOULD BE IN HEART. ITIS IMPORTANT HOW MUCH YOU HAVE FAITH IN YOUR HEART?
NO NEED TO SHOW THE WORLD BY KEEPING BEARD IF YOU BELIVE IN ISLAM.
SUDDENLY AFTER 9/11 ATTACK ALL PAKISTANI PLAYERS STARTED KEEPING BEARD.

What the hell

Why can't we just watch cricket and stop balooning the issue?
Does someone realy remember the highlights of the match? but they surely remember what controversy surrounded it.

Dean Jones Sacked
by Mayank on Aug 10, 2006 06:07 PM

I think there have been many similar comments passed on by Imran Khan on Indian team back in 1996 world cup match against India. No one sacked him out.

Yes, Dean Jones was wrong in commenting such a thing, but sacking him out of TEN SPORTS does not make sense.

What was done is right!!

When you are talking continuously, what was there in your mind can come out in any spontaneous moment. That's what has happened.

Saying things afterwards in order to justify are based on the reaction.

So, the act of punishing for his action was right.

Disrespectful comments against South African cricketer
by ak on Aug 08, 2006 02:51 PM  | Hide replies

People like Dean Jones who hails from Australia should not make such comments and if he does he is not doing any good, neither to the game nor to the society as a whole. It only represents the mentality of the Australia as a whole, or if i may be more harsh, it is the mentality of the 99% CHRISTIAN community. It is not a new thing that such disgracing words has come out from his mouth on air, while they harbour such and more harsh ideas in their mind all the time.People having such mentality have no right to live on this earth and thus should be shown the way to hell as soon as possible.

If the wearing of a beard by the cricketer in question makes him more MUSLIM then scores of sadhus, krishis & mahakrishis who have historically worn beards have to be definite muslims. Or are they ???????????????

Nice Obsservation

Atleast such open observations, will deter the muslims community from allowing their kin to bomb.
It really looks awful to see a man boarding that ugly beard and palying cricket.
Not only Dean Jones but many feel threatened by the beard as a defiance.
Their is no scope to practice personal faith in a nation team. U got to be only Indian or Australian when playing in the natinal team. Individual preferance can be held in personal life not thrusting the ugly beard on global audience..

calling someone a terrorist coz of his beard?? if u know abt cricket the legendary W.G.Grace played with beard, all sardars play with beard. The beard is not ugly , its your mentality.

I think these remarks are as harsh as what Dean Jones said. Is there any rule in Cricket that people cant play with beard? If it is in Army probably you are right but I dont know if Cricket also doesnt allow.
We need to have emphathy to understand other's sentitive feelings. It is understood only to the person who experiences it. All we can do is only respect the other's sentiments without our judgment.

Will Dean jones like if we say a prisoner is the commentrator?

Dean Jones

I would hate to think that this is the end of a brilliant commentator for such a stupid and trivial remark. I think the punishment would be far exceeding the gravity and context in which the comments were made. Forgiveness is a trait that should follow a sincere apology!

Poor Deano!

A careless remark, a bit of misplaced humour, and the end of a career. Dean Jones is a commentator I would love to see back on the job, for his perceptive and balanced commentary on cricket. His departure is a great loss. No one, least of all Jones, would defend the remark -i was totally out of line - but aren't we over-reacting, just a tiny little bit?
