what about lakshman?
by prasanth on Oct 04, 2005 06:21 PM

So what happened to all the stuff Lakshman went thru during this episode? He still remains there with no god-father to protect and the next couple of bad scores will see him out of the team for another few seasons. BCCI covered up the whole incident filling the hole with darkness and assuming(ass u and me)that the fans would think the whole mahayudh is over when it is far from it. From the days of match fixing saga(and Prem Panicker himself has addressed this), BCCI talks in public as if everyone else is retarded and would just believe anything they spit. They deny knowledge about things which will be in every news paper and magazine. Its too late to look for a change in the BCCI. There will be a Dalmiya or Muthaiah and its not worth thinking between the two of these "talented" gentlemen. It was a pity to see Ganguly taking a painful 101 against a pedestrian Zim bowling attack and then using that as a leverage for showing off his anger. Lets agree that he is no Mark Taylor to talk about being a tactician. He has done a neat job as captain but as the Aussies do it, sympathy and past records dont decide everything. If Kaif is suitable for the batting slot, let him in.

Is Chappel a liar
by Ravi on Oct 03, 2005 02:09 PM

It was not the question of liar but did the coch apply
his mind on the brief he had with him becouse selection of touring captain is made by the selection
committee and not by the coch or Manager unless they are been advised by the board.Secondly is not correct
to discuss captain in team meetting it should have been one to one specially so when both had good rela-
tion. The Australian miscalculated on Indian mind in
present day context.Indipendent Indian boys and Girls
are different in mind set. They respect people but also deserve respect.

Dear Sir,

The only persons who could have done justice to the whole issue were the above named three great crickters of yester years. But they have failed and failed miserably. Why they have fallen prey to the BCCI is not understood. God save the Indian Cricket.

Chappell Vs. Ganguly
by Vijay Kumar on Oct 03, 2005 11:01 AM

Everyone knows that Ganguly is not in form and is not fit to even represent Indian Cricket team. It was wrong on his part to go to media of what transpired in the dressing room. But it was wrong on the part of the coach Greg Chappell to inform him before a test match to relinquish captaincy and that he prefers both kaif and yuvraj alas droping ganguly. First he should have tried to get the confidence of all the team members and given ganguly some time before trying to restructure the side. Both Greg and Ganguly have done things which is going to affect the Indian cricket. Now both of them would not command the respect they deserves from the team members. Board had swept everything under the carpet and instead both Greg Chappell and Ganguly should be sacked and restructuring done keeping in mind the world cup in corner.

Ganguly should be thrown off
by Savio on Oct 02, 2005 06:51 PM  | Hide replies

Chappel is right. Whenthe truth has come, no one is ready to accept it? The Indian team is having a lot of probelms, one of that is ganguly, throw him off the team, and make Dravid the captain.

Yes, I agree with you. Ganguly should be thrown off. And all Ganguly supporters in selection team also should be thrown off.

Mr Chappel story over ganguly
by manish on Oct 01, 2005 03:57 PM

yes i thikn that ther is regional politics going for making rahul ravid captain of indian team what i think that he is not having that much of potential like ganguly to lead the team and more overi am not in afavour to make virendra sehvag vice captain cos he need to groom himself for that post may in comming years through his experience he may be but rigtht now he is not the deserving candidate.
for Mr chappel he is like any other whote player who always criticise indial criket althoug they meus recognise that in india criket is another religion

Don't tax your brain!
by PJ on Oct 01, 2005 10:10 AM

Logic and common sense are seldom applied to the actions of BCCI. So better not tax your brain trying to make some sense out of their actions and statements on this issue.
Cheers!
