dear greg its really commendable that u said what u thought to be in the best interest of team-india...but "its india"...here professional attitude can be taken as an antonym to prudence..and cooperative persona.by the way when bcci earns more than any cricket board in the world no one is there to ask what has been the perfomance of the team in that yr..

Im happy someone had the wisdom (and guts) to ask Sourav to step down..

i just wonder WHY DID SOURAV MAKE THIS STATEMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF A SERIES ? Smacks of selfish intent, with total disregard for the team's interests.

And as for the the century, the less sed the better.. eaaaaaasily one of the worst centuries in the history of the game. Slooow... boriiiing.. and treating Streak and Blignaut like they were McGrath n Co. And its hardly surprising tht he got out immidiately after registering his ton... (Selfish)Target Achieved !!

It's time Sourav backs out with whatever dignity he can salvage... and pleaaaase, lets put the team first, for a change.

Sack him!

Even with a team like this, he has failed to win a test series outside the subcontinent in 5 years. How long will we wait? Now India will beat Zimbabwe (hopefully) and Ganguly will boast forever about winning the first series outside the subcontinent in 20 or whatever years! 5 years to win a series even against weak teams like West Indies and Zimbabwe is too long. He just hasn't been able to utilize the abilities of our players. The performance of the team is pretty ordinary, nothing great about it. If someone doesn't think that way I feel he or she has low standards.

Ganguly should not have been selected in the first place, then the question of stepping down would not have arisen! Many players have reached their pinnacle and now they are on the wane, Ganguly is one of them. Bangladesh & Zimbabwe are the teams against whom a Ranji player can make impact.Lets not look much into Ganguly's performance against Zimbabwe, time has come when when we should bid farewell to many a great cricketing souls, let not emotions take over reality............Ganguly goodbye.

i think it is high time that we stop making heroes out of very ordinary people..Ganguly does not either have the ability or the temperament to be a good captain. Infact sometimes we wonder as to why is he in team, or why are the likes of Laxman, harbhajan in the team who never shine in crunch matches, and only occasionally show their sparks of brilliance, that too against the likes of Zimbabwe, bangladesh and kenya. india needs a total overhauling of the team, and BCCI should invest their resources more judiciously in new young men who can carry on India's course in this sport, instead BCCI is busy filling its own coffers, as well as they are busy increasing the wealth of these so-called-sporting geniuses like the present heroes in the Indian team.It is a shame that even corporates are busy signing these very average people for crores, and wasting public money..According to me, the real team is the one which fights hard like a unit, which is very disciplined, and which gives weightage to each and every individual in the team, not just few boot lickers of the management. that is why Australia, England, Srilanka, and Pakistan are probably the four best teams in the world today
