Ganguly

It is not surprising to see rush of msgs against Saurav. Those who wanted his head, are seeing red and are getting scared that Ganguly might slip back into form.
Dont worry dada... U were dumped post Aus tour in 1992... U came back... I know u can do that again.

Greg, dont try to act as a selector... do for what you are being paid for.

Gangualy should be SACKED
by Raj on Sep 16, 2005 05:26 PM

I think Ganguly should not be allowed to leave out of his own will but should sacked and humiliated big time. Let alone a captain he should not even be a sub/drink man.

Ganguly SHOULD be asked to step down!
by Amit M on Sep 16, 2005 04:48 PM

Has Dada finally lost all touch with reality?! "Have personally failed only once"..think that's been happening since the World Cup! A century against Zimbabwe, seriously, what is that worth?! Maybe he can return as captain whenever we play Zimbabwe, Bangaladesh, Kenya and Namibia! Let Dravid lead the team for actual cricket matches. Dada was and will always be remembered as one of our best batsmen; but methinks that plain lack of discipline, reluctance to work hard and too much reliance on luck/supersition (the jersey number, etc.) has lead to his current state of 'form'.

Dada, please give it one more serious shot, work, REALLY WORK at it, or retire gracefully.

Saurav, please quit
by kia on Sep 16, 2005 04:43 PM

Whoever said that to Saurav needs to be praised.
If Ganguly feels that by going public he can get some support and sympathy....well, he can read this message and all other ones in this site.
Saurav, would you still have spoken about it if u had not score a poor century ?
Please step down and go down the history as a great player. You were the best, but you WERE.

Ganguly should exit
by Avadhoot Kalyankar on Sep 16, 2005 04:42 PM

Ganguly can come good only against weak teams like Bangladesh & Zimbabwe. The fact that it took more then 10 test matches for him to score a century are enough to remove him from captaincy. This century notwithstanding I think it's time for him to go.

Ganguly asked to resign.
by Prabhakar Komaravolu on Sep 16, 2005 04:36 PM

This very sad, bad and a joke midway of the series.

I think this incident speaks of campism of what we were afraid of being induced into a united team India. The culprit to this state of affairs is VB Chandrashekar (an unknown cricketer, with no credentials to donn any office in cricket establishement but is on selection committee deciding the state of Indian cricket). His opposition to Ganguly as caption has sown seeds of dissent with Dravid and Kumble resorting to dissedence as is evident from performance and statements in recent times. India lost Sri Lanka One day Series under Dravid. He is no better as captain and is now worse as player with politics. He has already demonstrated differences with Sachin and now has formed campism with his state team mate.

Ganguly has nutured the likes of Dravid and many other team members. He is a leader of great character and rarely known agression in an Indian. He has the class and intelligence to succeed. He should be supported. Dravid is not irreplaceable as is Sourav as a batsman. But it is leadership qualities that sourav possess that should not be ignored. There is no captain for now or future who can lift Indian cricket.

Ganguly's captaincy-time to say good bye
by Ramesh on Sep 16, 2005 04:25 PM

i think its a right decision made by the coach. Ganguly has been in mindset till now that no one can move him from the team. By this decision, he will put himself in pressure and his performance will improve. that's evident from his first innings against zimbabwe.

ganguly must come down
by Ramesh on Sep 16, 2005 04:05 PM

As of my knowledge no player struggled this much time fr form.He seems to learn alot ,though he's got long career in international cricket. If he continues so , some day all indians would say tht 'does he know cricket?' . He needs some(actually alot of) practise on his game .
