Review of performance of Team India
by BD singh on Sep 08, 2005 11:03 AM

This is not for the first time that Team India Has disappointed Indian Fans. After each series, there had been changes in plyaers list but it was effected on the players who had been part of only tour as additional Wagon not even participated in a single match. How the selectors judge the performance of those players who have not been given sufficient chnces to prove their capability and They are discarded in the next series. The old players who have not performed at all but continue to be part of Team India again. In the Zimbabwy Series, Captain and and his his deputy both have not performed at all and both must be dropped in the next series, if selectors are truelly reviewing the performance of individuals. Here I must say that selectors should show thier sporting spirit.

Statement of BCCI head
by Debashish Mookherjee on Sep 08, 2005 10:29 AM

I am amazed at the height of farsical statement of BCCI chief when he eqated India cricketers with parents and can not discard him because they are old.
If board's chief can draw such whimsical parallelism then god save team India. I can see his state of mind.
Are the parents are being payed lakhs to perform for the country?
Are they representing hopes of crores of coutrymen and then betraying them?
Are they calling irresponsible shots in spite of getting best of facilities?
Mr Mahendra you must be great holding that post.

R SUBRAMANIAN
Indian team
by R SUBRAMANIAN on Sep 08, 2005 09:51 AM

At present our so called strong batting line up is not up to the mark and they are the main reason for our repeated defeats. In cricket past record never gives result. An average of at least 30-35 runs will be a matter for a batsman rather than making centuries or so which comes in a while. Fielding and bowling department has considerably been improved. Thaks to Chappal. Loby selection should be avoided. After all cricket is all the above, than the players of any level. Work hard and hard and concentrate on game rather than publicity. If so, 2007 WORLD CUP will be of India.

Give us 15 good men.....!
by Frank Cherian on Sep 08, 2005 08:15 AM

In a land of over one billion people....where the sport of cricket reigns supreme. Is it so difficult to put aside caste and creed and political connection, and find 15 good men....?
Men whose passion for the sport is unrivaled, men who excel in every aspect of the game...batting, bowling & fielding. Men who are not just specialists....but master "all-rounders". Where even tail enders come in to bat and can be counted on to score handsomely, where every player is a fielder with agility and speed, where every player can be counted on to bowl and draw blood. Give us 15 men who share this passion, dedication and skill.....and I suspect we will be soon rejoicing the birth of a team that has no equal in the sport of cricket. Jai Hind.

Gavaskar also commits mistakes in Selection
by J.Padmanabhan on Sep 08, 2005 04:20 AM

The world eleven selected under the chairmanship of Gavaskar & co to play against Australia has erred in including Sachin and excluding Inzamam. Suchin is a Great player but he was not in touch with cricket for so many months, now he is out of present Zim tour too. Where as Inzamam has shown great cricketing abilities and qualities of a Captain. He should have been appointed ad World eleven Captain instead of Pollack. I have great respect for Pollock but he is only a bowler, But Newzeland's Bond is better than him.
Every member of the our Indian team should earn their place whereas now if one score a mere 50 or so in a match, he is assured of another 10 matches, this trend should be reversed and more competitiveness should introduced in selection of players.

by M S Pradeep Kumar on Sep 08, 2005 12:31 AM

As an ardent follower of cricket I would like to stress that in the view of World Cup the team does not have to practise failing in all the finals!!

india i need you to win why? i dont like somebody to say you lost
by karthikeyan.r.s. on Sep 07, 2005 11:18 PM  | Hide replies

for me whether a game or life win is a win
have passion for the game for the country
to achieve you neednot be talented
sportsman you need a passion for the country
how you can say some reason for losing
blame yourself then see what happens
indian captain gives reasons for losing
but i say blame yourself(team) for losing
and try to win. the cricketers must come from
south also. as north indians have given preference
for the game. be indian why you are not like that
get more indians then see the game.

sehwag, dravid, tendulkar, kaif, yuvraj, pathan, dhoni, yadav. keep the above. remove the rest. find 4 allrounder/batsman and 4 all rounder/bowler for team india. i think one bowler who deserves a chance is munaf patel.

Jaibanu Unni
Indian Team
by Jaibanu Unni on Sep 07, 2005 10:34 PM

The team certainly lacks motivation and enthusiasm that is evident in other teams.

Cricketing brain is required and conventional approch will not help us at all times.

Lack of spinners and allrounders really affects the balance of the team.

Bench strength of Indian Team is another factor which needs to be looked at any non-performer will have to be sidelined irresepective of Junior/Senior distinctions.
