15 good ones
by kkk on Sep 09, 2005 05:55 PM

Yes as one of my country man pointed out all we need is just 15 masters who can bat, bowl and field. I mean is it hard for a batsman to bowl all they have to do is practice. The only thing they have to do is practice apart from family affairs all they have to think of is proper practice with a flare for the sport and if they can do that I am sure that some one like saurav can perform like how he used to perform long long long long ago. I hope the selectors can be fair and sack any one who dosent perform not only in real matches but also at practice. Jai Hind

Indians Cricketeers
by Sambit on Sep 09, 2005 05:32 PM

Indian cricketeers are bringing disgrace to India. They are a bunch of people who are not proud to play for india, they should have a session with the indian army.

team india ???????????
by anand on Sep 09, 2005 11:54 AM

the teamindia should be paid on performance basis. a basic pay should be given and on certain performance the allowance should be paid.
also all the players who have signed contract with BCCI, should be banned for the contract period for endorcing the products. let the players prove their worth in winning the game and then allow them to market the products.

first tihing first sack ganguly, dravid on bench, and promote kaif as captain. sack kumble and introduce new spinner.

''You cannot sideline your parents ................Can you recall Kapil?
by SaGaR on Sep 08, 2005 09:55 PM

Mr. Mahendra,
Asked why "old" players were being given preference again and again, he replied: "You cannot sideline your parents just because they are old.

So, can you ask your dad to play?

Try not to be funny and be practical.
Although old is gold, its not always.
Say good bye to Mr. Ganguly.
Concentrate on grooming Kaif as a captain.

Regards,

High Time !!!
by Deepak Giri on Sep 08, 2005 03:45 PM

It's high time now and the Indian Cricket Board should take some "HARSH and SERIOUS" steps towards the players. Consistent Non Performers should be thrown out of the team. People who say that look at the past record then well my only one answer is that past performance cannot make up for the present form.

Feeling Sorry
by shakti on Sep 08, 2005 02:13 PM

"" You cannot sideline your parents just because they are old. "" Statements like this are pathetic. This is certainly not a professional point of view and it is really unfortunate that officials up there are superstitious. Review committee is a good step but it should lead somewhere. Some drastic steps need to be taken or else this sort of performances will continue forever.

Team India debacle - BCCI to blame !
by Deepak Bhakoo on Sep 08, 2005 01:07 PM

The BCCI is hugely responsible for the poor showing of the Indian cricket team in the past year or so due to the way the team's assignments are planned - in a totally non-professional manner.

When all the other top teams are busy playing international cricket, the Indian team is having a prolonged "rest", as the one it had just before the tour of Sri Lanka. Due to the long period of inaction, the players' fitness levels dropped to such an extent that a one-off fitness camp was not enough to help them regain complete fitness. Net practice can help a player iron-out his deficiencies, but it is no substitute to exposure to international cricket. So, despite the camps, the players were still "rusty".

Sri Lanka always do well at home. To counter that, more practice matches are needed to help the players acclimitise & have a proper feel of the wickets & conditions. BCCI forgot that, the West Indies & Sri Lanka having played a Test series before the tri-series, had an upper hand & India stood no chance. It got worse in Zimbabwe, with New Zealand having played a Test series & India reaching the venue barely a day before the first match, the Kiwis definitely had an edge as expected !

indian team disapointed
by kripa shankar on Sep 08, 2005 12:31 PM

again our national hero's have proved to be Zero. some of the decisions like not giving enough chances to jp yadav should be discused with coach and caption. if our players are happy being no 2 let the entire team be replaced with the junior team. senior players like ganguly, uvraj, dravid, pathan and nehra should justify there positions in the team.no chance to raina despite of complete failure of venugopal rao is a strangr decision.
ganguly should be removed from team and let him prove his credentials in ranji trophy.
