The new dispensation

What prem is suggesting for the new improved(?) BCCI, requires a pathological change in their thinking. Greg Chappel has to be an important cog if India wants to be cricketing super power, the wishy washy chest thumping will not do.

Prem - No Self Goals Yaar

Prem what Sharath has done is right, remove the bad ones and has put the right ones. Ganguly is a great crickter, but his recent dictatorship was hard to digest....

It is probably only India where sports is run by people who have no idea about the sport and more so the "public" who give there view ( and think that they are right) without playing a single professional game.

People who are giving there view , how many of you have played even a single professional match to give advise about what should be done with the team or which way can they win a match. Serious bunch of loosers.

what Sharad Pawar needs to do

He should exhort on all to look at future in a positive frame of mind and not be guided by what happened in the past. The contributions of the old officials and players and captains cannot be ignored and everyone must be given his due respect. Both Dalmia and Ganguly have done a lot for Indian cricket though some of their actions may be questionable and not above board. I am sure they had the interests of cricket only in mind and, therefore, deserve to be given the benefit of doubt. Good luck to Pawar. The best ones should get the chance to play for the country. Those who have outlived their utility should be given affectionate send offs in a befitting manner. The country's interest should come frist.

What Sarad Pawar needs to do
by Ravi on Nov 30, 2005 05:02 PM

Well said Prem. There can't be a better message to the perennial problem of Indian Cricket Board than this - 'Be a professional ... Stand up to the actions you take and explain the same with dignity to the ultimate bread winners for you i.e. the Cricket loving public of India'...!!

But are we not being naive in expecting this? Which politician would like to do this?? Why should he venture going the hard way when he knows that all he has to do is to stay back, relax and enjoy the fruits of Team's hardwork when they are succeeding; but come forward to admonish and crucify them when they fail ..! Why should he change the practice of NOT taking responsibility to the performance of team - good or bad..?
I am sorry if I am cynical - but I don't see even an iota of Accountability being shown by Mr. Pawar & Co in the months to come. The sad state of affairs of Indian Cricket Administration is going to and will continue forever like this..!!!
