I think it is good & excellent move, because Greg has all type of knowledge about cricket and he will take india on the top of the world cricket. We just give him full time to spread his guts & his zeal over our players. I think he will prove hisself as a commander of coaches in India.
Chappell, if my boss guarantees me 50 lakhs per year as salary irrespective of what I do and based solely on past laurels, do you think I'll work? I pity you and your new assignment.
Its a pathetic situation to be in to call ourselves a cricketing nation and where the population seems to eat, drink and sleep on cricket..Those who achieved some glory and lot of wealth in the Indian side would like to be in the panel but would like to stay away from being a cricket coach..some of the politicians and businessman are party to making such decisions..and we debate/discuss about it..Has Australia hired any foreign coach? They are at top for so many years..
Guys..we don't need a foreign coach..we need attitude of any average Pak player..if not top order..at least a tailender..Not to take away entire credit from our Cricket demigods..but the fact cannot be denied..more depends on how you perform at the nets than how you perform when the opponent is trying to get you out..As long as our heros are earning millions in comfort of few minute ads/endorsements, we will continue to experience the same..Coach is just an eyewash that we will continue to get every few years..so that no clear ownership is put on the team..and players that make that "team"..
Don't you think that john wright was a good and successful coach.so what if india loses current series to pakistan, but one thing is that the indian team was very happy with john wright;indian team will take sometime to be with chappell. all the best to indian team.and i hope they will show great temperament in ground with chappell as a coach. i don't frankly see wat's all the fuss about a coach. non offense to greg chapell, he's a great cricketer, and could be great mastermind. good cricketing brain is undoubtedly important, but the present team needs more a sort of a motivator than a coach. its not that they are all perfect, but first one needs to get a confidence level to be experimenting on strategies. we have loads of talent but somehow they don't perform well. so instead of telling them to give their full potential, some one shud first make them come up to their full potential. something which no team perhaps other than india need so badly. wat my point is instead of straight away running force-10 horns against, chapell must do something to bring the guys back to themselves, something which no other coach was able to do so far. be it a miracle, he shud do that first then there will be promising results. lets hope greg chapell can do it perfectly.
I believe it is a good choice made. One of the best captains that has ever led a team. But, the fact remains, can he turn a bunch of donkeys to a bunch of race winning horses ?? There is no lack of talent, but it is a lack of conviction among our boys. More than a good coach, maybe our boys need a good psychiatrist. GOOD LUCK MR. CHAPPELL !!
Cograts Dear Greg Chappel.Being an all time great of the game you deserves the post. My MOTHER LAND is expecting you to do more. All the best.Don't bother about pressures,do what ever you feel right. once again Congrats!!!
