by Nagesh on Mar 30, 2005 03:06 PM

Behind maggi 2 minutes noodles pack:
Step 1: boil one cup of water
Step 2: as soon as ganguly goes for batting, put the noodles in the boiled
water and add the tastemaker.
Step 3: stir till ganguly is on the field.
Step 4: As soon as ganguly is back in pavilion, your noodles r ready to eat!!!

Team failure
by Yogesh Hasabnis on Mar 30, 2005 11:41 AM

Indian team did fail on the last day and it is bound to receive criticism from everywhere. They will have to cope with it. But again, don't paint the picture that the team has returned to the status where it was 5 years ago and now it's totally dependent on Sehwag. Such theories should not be stated on the basis of just one series. The team has certainly progressed under Mr Wright and Ganguly. We should always make observations based on the team performance over a period of time and not on bad performance on one particular day.

As bad as it gets
by Dilip on Mar 30, 2005 05:47 AM

The last test match in Bangalore must be rated highly if somebody were looking for total failure. From a position of strength at 100 odd for 1 , a draw was one of the highly likely results. I doubt if the most optmistic would have thought otherwise. But team India comes back and slaps you right in the face. The outcome - A Pakistan victory, even Bob Woolmer in his wildest dreams did not have. Team India should be "commended" for handing out this victory.
Ask me why they should be "commended"? Because they have fooled a little over billion people to support them after such a crap performance. All said and done, come April 2nd, all of us are going to cheer for each one of them - the Sachins, Souravs , Dravids, and a few others.
In theory, this team boasts of some of the world's best players , each one has some world record to his name. But time and again, they manage to foax all of us.
I think it is high time we stop lauding their performaces, stop singing their praises. Because they have proved time and again that they do not have the hunger for success.

The performance by the fab four in the last test is making me think twice before committing to a friend to join him in watching one day series. I am wondering if it would be worth while to spend money and loose sleep as the matches happen during the night time in the USA. Though I did not watch the match (Only heard the commentary for a while) by looking at the strike rate of the so called greats paints a picture that all of them were hell bent on how to lose the plot. While they said bad habits dont die easily. The current team seems to be a living example of that. The men in form should have taken over. Have they forgotten that they are all senior to Sehwag and should show him the way rather than waiting for him to show the way (nothing personal against sehwag, I acknowledge him as a Pillar in the Indian team)

I dont think john Wright deserves this kind of a farewell after all the work he has done with the team. The people who got rich with the sponsors now just seem to playing only for the money forgetting the fact that their game is what brought them that. They forgot their good habits and lessons but somehow managed to remember the bad ones.

A deeply disappointed fan

Result of Banglore test
by S.S.Keskar on Mar 29, 2005 04:06 PM

Firsty the target which was in front of us was well within the reach of our team. Instead going on defence, they would have chased it like one day & indeed the result would have been in our favour.
Secondly it is high time for our selection committee to think for other captain & kick out existing captain even from Indian team.

Time for changes
by Samir on Mar 29, 2005 03:15 PM

Winning and losing are part of the game, but when a team puts up a spineless performance and loses pathetically, someone has to take the blame. The best way to energize the team is to infuse fresh blood and my view (though I know it doesn't count, but what the heck) is that the team needs to make the following changes:
Sack: Ganguly, Laxman, Tendulkar
Include: Kaif, Yuvraj, Dinesh Mongia
If there is one thing that we need to learn from the Aussies is that past performances don't count. We as a nation, not to talk of the selectors, are too sentimental in their approach. Based on their current form and committment, the above 3 need to be given a rest. Let them prove their class at the domestic level and then make a come-back. Until then, give the young Turks a chance.

Your observation is well up to the mark and now i would like to add more.

1)Ganguly is good for nothing, other than talking "sidhe saurav se". I would prefer "laat sidhi saruav ko" KICK HIM OUT OF THE INDIAN TEAM.
2)The team seems to be performing predictably.. It somehow brings the memories and thoughts of match fixing. It still exists.. no matter what.
3)Tendulkar needs to do a lot of rethinking. Hope he is not a part of this match fixing. His "student and admirer" Sehwag has surpassed his idol in terms of performance and temprament. He should understand that in some corner of our hearts we still feel he can do it but he doesnt.. well most of the times. He will no more be the icon he is today.
4)Dravid should not look at his averages and records. He has to do a lot more than that. Sir Don Bradman just played his game and records followed.
5)Boycott every product these guys endorse and you should get fantastic results for TEAM INDIA..

Ganguly's men in blue
by jacob on Mar 29, 2005 02:12 PM

The only player who has put in a brave mind to oppose the pakistan bowling attack was Sehwag. three cheers! Saurav "dada" Ganguly should please understand that the indians are not fools to accept the foulplay. what has been his test average for the last few matches? it is high time that he be stripped off his test captaincy. it was only because of his stupid decisions that India lost the first test, which would otherwise have been an easy win..

On Saurav ganguly
by Ranjith Kumar on Mar 29, 2005 02:08 PM

Our great caption is to be thrown out of the cricket field. We can think of making him non playing caption if he is still interested in playing cricket. One fail to understand on whose backing he is continuing to be in Indian team, despite the worst record. If Laxman can be dropped on the basis of his performance, why the selectors are turing a blind eye on this great indian caption. He was boasted to be a great player of spin, struggling to cope up with a mediocre spin on a sleeping beauty.
