It was yet another story of pathetic display of batting. Pakistan have proved once again their capability to fight back. The golden opportunity at Mohali was thrown away because of bad captainship of Ganguly

indian team is stupid. I can play better than them. Dont even think about getting close to teams like australia where in the other match you see how they explode the opponenents (Ponting)

I am happy that India lost this match. Atleast Ganguly will be chopped. He needs to go. He do not deserve a place in the eleven

Yes, You said it all. It was overdefence on the part of Indian players. Whomsoever advised the players to be overdefence has misjudged.

Continuation to :: A letter to Mr.Panicker before post lunch session started

Saurav should not hide himself from attacks. He came after Laxman showing us how much low his confidence is !

I m sure India can draw the game but in the morning today i prayed that at least India should put up a fight to win.
Everyone says that it is impossible to score more than 250 on a last day. What did Pakistan do yesterday? They scored 262 in 50 overs on a 4th day track even with India bowling negatively !

Why is it that Indian batsmen cannot prove historians and critics wrong? Am I asking this question because I have lot of expectations from the team?
Well as a true Indian I would like to see athletes and players excel in whatever they do.

Fight till the last drop of blood.

Hope some one hears me.

-Prem

A letter to Mr.Panicker before post lunch session started
by Premanand Mohapatra on Mar 28, 2005 10:30 PM

Hi Mr. Panicker,
I m saddened by the attitude of both Gautam and Rahul.
Gautam being a set batsman should lead the attack and at least show some aggresiveness.By aggresiveness, I mean not playing like the mad Afridi but with some intelligence. These two batsmen have gone into a shell and I dont see them scoring at a healthy run at all.
Rahul is a kind of batsman, if he goes into a shell it is difficult for him to get out of it.Most of the time, we have see him getting out to a lose delivery mostly out of frustration.I pray that we have some intelligent heads in the team who can tell them that they should at least hit the bad balls to the fences.
Today, I think the initiative should have been taken by Saurav. He should have come instead of Rahul. I know this is a difficult situation for a batsman who is out of form to come and perform. But this move is kind of a risk being taken. If Saurav could have scored some quick runs, I think it would have shut the mouth of millions of critics. The captain should always lead the team from front and this kind of move would have shown the true courage of the Bengal ' Tiger '.Leaf should be taken out from Inzy who came infront of Youhana.

3rd test -reasons for defeat
by k k jay shankar on Mar 28, 2005 10:14 PM

bad captaincy on the part of ganguly throughout the game was the prime reason india lost the match. what is amazing is play on the 4th day by laxman in not trying to farm the bowling at all. whatever his problems in form existed was no excuse for even not attempting to protecting the tail. ganguly on his part erred in not sending kumble in earlier as he has the experience and grit required to stay at the crease. what made balaji harbhajan & pathan try to score runs in a cavalier fashion when the need of the hour even then was to use up time. if they had attempted to play in the fashion that they did in the 1st innings itself more time would have been used up, therby ensuring a draw or india having a much lesser target to chase.do the captain and coach think of asking the players to play as per the situation only it is totally out of control. if our famed batting line up had scored a few boundaries, the time required to fetch the ball would perhaps have reduced the no. of overs that the tail had to face. when u see that india lost out with only 8 overs to be bowled, ie about 1/2 hr, dont u agree that a slower approach by our tail in the first innings could have saved the match.
