As one who played decent amount of cricket, at club level, and following the game for 50 years, I am not surprised of the " Most Ungenerous Insult to India Cricket Team's Best Captain Ever"- that has been the way the Bombay and Maharashtrian groups operated; from deposing Nawab of Pataudi to smaller players from other regions who were neglected, and the many chances to Kambli and Agarkar, same sordid story. But what happened with Ganguly is a crime to cricket, to patriotic cricket, to those who really have seen how Ganguly built individuals into a team and achieved sustained results. For what-to be given the most shoddy treatment.Shame to us all- that an imported coach has more national fervour than the man who removed his shirt to convey his national pride. It appears the same as 11 MPs get thrown out-as though many others sitting in judgement are "ethical"- what a travesty of truth? RCSastry
its not the way to treat the most successful player who has unimaginably aggressive attitude which was lacking in inidan cricket for a long time.
he groomed so many young players like harbhajan singh, yuvaraj, kaif, irfan, zaheer, and many more. he supported them a lot not only in a time of their good days but importantly in bad times when some support and shoulder was needed.
I am very much shocked by the way the selectors & Greg Champell treated ganguly. This is very much injustic to a player who has made India proud so many times.
I think the skipper was a liitle loose on his game but when he has proved his fitness and abilit to score runs and application on the ground as a good team player, then wh not he is getting enough chance to spent some time on the pitch in an international match. It look a bit unfair and shows that some persons don't want to see Ganguly playing for the team. They have foget the Ganguly's contribution as a player and as a captain in the team and for india.
