Irrationality personified

Firstly, Ganguly never had to be given an opportunity, he had already earned it through years of commitment and outstanding performances. It was embarrassing enough to drop him from the one day squad in the first place, let alone dropping him again. If he had to be ousted from the Indian team, then why insult him by picking him for one test, where he tried everything in his capacity to perform. There are many more aging players in the squad, but they are being treated with respect, and will leave the team eventually with dignity.
Then, why Ganguly? Did he ever do anything different than his aging colleagues? Or perhaps he was too fiery and arrogant, qualities which made a team of cats into tigers. I can't recall any other indifference, please let me know if anybody else thinks Sourav deserves this subserville treatment.

Ganguli dropped for the third test
by SR Ganguli on Dec 14, 2005 10:00 PM

No wonder the axe will fall on Ganguly, with BCCI being an all-Mumbai affair and a politician at its head. It is disgraceful that a Union minister has time to take up the BCCI job to the disregard of his mnisterial portfilio. Thank God, Ganguly did not score more runs. Or else the situation would have turned more difficult for Kiran More & company.

Oh my god? Remember Chappel hit list?
by sameer Shaikh on Dec 14, 2005 09:55 PM

Oh my god. I knew it is going to happen some day and I know selectors were looking for one mistake from Ganguly? Even if Dravid, Gambhir or Tendulkar failed in 5 test match, they will be given another chance. Hats off to media, they rightly predicted that it is one last chance for Ganguly and the planning to term Ganguly as all rounder and all these politics.. Hey guys... people who did not beleieve chappel hit list and called Sharma a sour grapes , now keep an eye on Chappel hit list. Hist list number one(Ganguly) is gone now... Oh my god... Please help the Indian team from this ruthless aussie

This is not cricket
by Anand Kumar on Dec 14, 2005 09:51 PM

I am shocked to know that ..Wasim Jaffer has replaced Dada for third Test.??? I agree with the writer.

This is disgusting and uncalled for..Jaffer should have replaced Gambhir.opener to opener..This is POLITICS and no Cricket. It seems not only selectors but captain and coach are also involved in this.

As a cricket lover, i pained by selector's decesion.

Thanks,
Anand

Ganguly out of team
by Gobinda Saha on Dec 14, 2005 09:38 PM

Don't you think it is the best time for Ganguly to retire from indian cricket. The amount of insult he has been "endowed" is too much for a man like him who gave a lot to Indian cricket. These selectors "honestly" don't know how to respect heroes. I think Ganguly better play some county-cricket in england to get the pleasure of the game as well as money and fame.

Ganguly should be there in the playing 11.
by Dr. Riya on Dec 14, 2005 09:29 PM

Ganguly deserves a place in the playing 11. His exclusion from the team is injustice not only to him but to Indian cricket.
He is full of potential and he has proved it. Every cricket lover should protest to this kind of board politics.

A question..?
by vinay on Dec 14, 2005 09:28 PM

Why is the author of the article(report) not mentioned..?

I would like to apologise if I am about to hurt any one's feelings.

I do understand people in india are very emotional about cricket, I stopped following cricket of the indian team 10 yrs ago for a simple reason, the cricket in india is still played with emotions unlike in australia or in south africa were the execution of cricket is like projects in US where there is little room for error. And it does not matter where Dravid or Wasim Jaffer is from as long as they win matches for india. Why do autor of this report still crib about "where" the players hail from as long as they are from india. If it were upto me..i would recruit any one, from around the world to represent india as long as we can win the matches in a dignified way..
thank you.
