Aussie Pacers have India reeling
by Vijayabaskar on Oct 28, 2004 09:47 AM

The following steps are to be taken immediately.
1. It is high time that Indians are stripped of their test status.
2. Sack Ganguly as captain.
3. If the above two are too far-fletched, consider this:
Dissolve Indian team. The fans have a better job to do elsewhere.

Jai Hind!

by Michael on Oct 28, 2004 08:10 AM

This is regarding the cricket update given in rediff's home page. I find that the news that link points is only upto the lunch or tea session of the match. where as it should have been the final result at the end of the day. Will there be some action taken

Is this India playing?
by cheez_m on Oct 28, 2004 07:56 AM

Ganguly is out for better.
Dravid and Laxman should be sent to Ranji to play. Chopra - why are you playing with so much pressure? Be agressive and play your strokes. You are not that bad as it looks.
Sehwag - Aggressiveness and Responsibility are not contrary to each other. So be aggressive but don't throw your bat on balls way offstump.
Sachi - What can I say?

(2-0) I bet!

The aussie pacers bowled excellently to put India down to the bottom.Once again the top order failed to deliver. Two positive thing the Indians can take from this test match if India manage atleast a draw is the way the low order played better than the top half in this series and some valuable confidence that they can level the series in Mumbai.I think the selectors should have to decide either give chopra or yuvraj more number of chances or give a chance to a debutant. We should take some risk in the game like the Aussies giving clarke a debut in the all important series and getting results out of it now.Clarke is a good player to give a test debut but many experienced players like ponting, gilchrist have struggled in the past series so in that way it is a risk factor.Maybe the Indians in doing so can have some fortunes turned their way. Please selectors decide immediately before it is too late.

Better stop writing such articles. The article is very dull, drab and run of the mill content.

Pathetic Indian Batting
by T.P. Viswanathan on Oct 27, 2004 11:58 PM

Moral of the Indian top order collapse is that 'pin up boys no more make good players'. Their loyalty lies in ad revenue more so because most of them have been graded top batsmen for the purpose of match fees.

Ganguly's inexplicable withdrawal at the last minute shows that the players dictate terms and BCCI is just helpless.

Laxman seems to be unhappy over only Yuvaraj being dropped. May be he feels 'why not me'. Like GR Visswanath in the good old days, this man is being played merely based on past glory, just one good game against Aussies. Cricket bosses are busy defending themselves and do not seem to be having any time to look into the on going match.

Tendlkar has all excuses in the world, coming after a long gap, not so favourable wicket and what not. A good player is one who is able to adjust to any condition, e.g. Damyan Martin.

The way our players batted, it is not even at the street level cricket. Australia will go home for 3-0 Victory. This is a time we should kick Lakshmanan out of the team. Make parthiv patel as a batsman (not wicket keeper). Unfortunately we don't have much option in our batting line up. What our 1000 crore turn over BCCI is doing. where is the replacement of our batters.Dalmiya can make money for BCCI and not producing any new cricketers for India. This is unfortunate situation.

India in a Pathatic condition
by Umasutharao on Oct 27, 2004 11:16 PM

Yes, Inida in a pathatic condition, that too, on the home soil. can you beleive? The so called self proclaimed, "Stongest batting line up" HAS PUT OUR HEADS TO SHAME. When do we learn to "BAT"? Are Bangladesh Batsmen and Kenya Batsmen, better than our Heros (Zeros)who are paid FAT salaries and endorsements? Are they not putting this People of Cricket loving Nation to ransom, and shame?
The "Cricket India" , requires thorough shake up both at Players level, Selectors level, Coaching level and Administrative level. Is it too much to ask for?

Is it necessary to keep the seniors who r not in the good form. Is it necessary to keep partiv patel who is not keeping well, is tendulkar is same as in the previous years, Is ganguly needs to continue with the captaincy.
