Indian players hardly learn from mistakes. Few of them are in the team by name only. They are not true professionals unlike Englishmen or Australians. The players needs a thrashing from Board. They have taken it granted that their place is sure in the team. Let them concentrate on their playing rather than commercials , endorsing etc.If the baord stops all these, the players will automatically realise that they need to make money by playing for country with performance only. One should not wait giving 10-15 chances to palyers, whoever it may be, either Ganguly, Dravid or Tendulkar. Tendulkar is more or less like Gavaskar who hardly have won matches for India. He might be a good player but I have hardly seen him as match winner. Piling up runs for records does not make the country proud. One should always think that they are representing 100 corores indians and its not a joke. Not only the players but the board/selectors should learn from the Australian policy of selecting team, ommiting players like B.Lee,Mark Waugh, forcing Steve to hangup his boots. Its should always play in the mind of players that they need to perform well or else they will be chucked out.

Indeed I am from Hyderabad and obviously a great fan of VVS Laxman. This great batsman is putting himself into undue pressure and getting himself out. He must play like Dravid and inturn Dravid should play like VVS. Laxman though is batting and stroking well is falling by literally throwing his wicket.

Another case a player is under tremendous pressure is Parthiv Patel. So much is written about him and I think its going to cost his wicket unless a miracle happens. I only hope he will bat so well that the selectors will have to start retaining him as batsman.

Indians on the Back Foot !
by Vivek Bahadur on Oct 27, 2004 06:41 PM

The disciplined, dynamic, dedicated Aussies have the dejected, demoralised and disorganised Indians in a dizzy at the end of Day 2 !

A lack lusture display of listless batting has the Indians battling to salvage some pride in Nagpur !

Will the heroics of Kaif & Parthiv work out for India is any ones guess but the Aussies certainly will not let the Indians plans work !!

It's time to remove the big guns from the Indian Cricket team. It's unfortunate to see such a shameful performance on the home grounds by Indian Cricketers.

all the middle order batsmen shud b taken out of the indian team!!!
by S. Krishna Kumar on Oct 27, 2004 06:17 PM

It's indeed heart breakin 2 once again see the indian top-order crumble agains a wily aussie pace attack. I was really shockd 2 see the pathetic display of batting 4m the indians. No one seems 2 b in a sort of form. I think, dravid's decided tht it's not possible 2 play shots agains any bowler, just stay there and play as many balls as possible. atleast he shud've played a little bit aggressively. he never did tht, particularly against mcgrath. as he's the senior most player in the team,(i won't count sachin, since he's in a position 2 retire 4m the team atleast 4 2 full years b4 makin a come back. he's simply in the team 4 the sake of the fans)he shud've guided the other players 2 perfection which he faild 2 do.

If this form continues 4 dravid, india will b made 2 eat the humble pie in the remainin 2 tests. tht's certain.

Dont be stupid...dont watch this cricket!
by Whats in a name on Oct 27, 2004 03:27 PM

Those who are watching this series, i have a message for them. Dont watch this test series as the outcome of this series is decided long back.

there is a man called dalmiya. and there is another man called pawar - sharad pawar! These two gentle man are good for only one thing. Realising their vested interest.

When there was a report in the newspapers that John Wright is likely to be replaced (inspite of the fact that he has done a good job over the last few years) as he, according to some senior players and some stupid board officials, is not able to build strategies. And Mr. Dalmiya was approaching Greg Chappel or Sunil Gavaskar for the next coach, we should have understood that the australia is going to win the series without any difficultly by either 3-0 or even 4-0. As if India beats australia there is no way that wright can be removed. Even if the series is drawn then also it is a lot difficult to remove the coach. So you all can understand what is happening.

My suggestion to all of you is that please dont waste your time on this Indian cricket. After comments (players are playing for BCCI only) and drama of BCCI,if you still watch indian cricket, U r not a true Indian.

It beats me to think how the selectors keep persisting with Zaheer, Ajit agarkar. They are know to be ever too expensive with ever little results.

Sad that India has to persist with them when we have so many bright futures waiting hopelessly at the wings.

Same can be said of VVS. He is an ocassional player and has mostly failed in the middle order and we still persist with him

Parthiv - the less said of him the better.
