Good to hear comments from Arch-Rival Team Member

Thank you for Javed Miandad's comments.

First of all, we have to remember that Miandad had a problem with Imran all the time and Imran has declared the innings becuse of jealousy, etc. but Dravid has declared the innings for the sake of the country and game. the decision has taken by the management not from Dravid alone. Players are not playing Criket to set the individual records, they are playing for the country and game.

All the best Sachin for your future endevours.

does he change his view on the changed circumstances

I beleive Miandad made this suggestion when he was sure that India is not going to win this match but India did go on to win the match. Also the differece in between 16 overs and 14 overs in a test match is a big one if it is at the end of the day as there are more chances of getting the wickets at the end of the day.

Dear Javed, You have proved by your words that you are a real sportsman.Your exterior and tantrums at the crease really hide your soft interior.Thank you Javed for your consoling words to Sachin and his millions of fans too.Life can be stranger than fiction, as you rightly said. But one has to take these things in stride.

Why bother about Miandad
by Ranjeet on Mar 30, 2004 11:16 PM

Sehwag did not need Miandad's certificate to prove that he is a class act. And as far as consoling Sachin is concerned, I think his motive is probably to sow dissent in the Indian camp. Alas, he has not only misjudged the new Indian team but also grossly misjudged Scahin himself. Yes, he may have voiced his dissappointment yesterday, but anybody hwo has been following his career would be sure that he holds nothing against his mates and captain.
Miandad would be better served trying to sort out the problems in his own team rather than dole out uncalled for advice for the Indian team.
And yes, he should alo start thinking about the small matter of saving this test match.
