I do not agree to what maindad is saying that Indian management was wrong in declaring the innings & felt sorry for sachin.
Rather he is saying all this to create discomfort amoung the Indian team members.
Why only 2 overs for sachin to get those 6 runs, it could have been more than that also or probably less. And lets assume a case if another 6 overs would have goneby and sachin would have been able to score only 5 runs and got out. Though it feels bad that sachin missed his double ton, but that was less important then the team making the pakis bat. sachin will get lot more opportunuties to score double hundreds in future, I am sure everyone will agree on that. So lets not rake up this issue any more. And also I would like to make one point, was the declaration decision taken only by Dravid. There are a lot more people involved in the same apart from dravid at this point, isnt it.. so cheers, and pray that we defeat pakis in this match by an innings.
I'm Fan of Cricket but the way adopted by Miandad for Demoralising the Indian Team is very Strange.
On Every happening of the Match he Loves to Comment against Indians. Take Example of First Day's stand of Sehwag he was claiming that His bowlers are the best in the World, then why they cannot took even 6 Wickets as today our bolwers did.
He is nothing but a stubborn who want to demoralise the Indian Team, and if I'm not wronge he has created this as an Habit. We all see the coaches of all the Teams in the World but he is always try to Show Off that he his the only one person who is knowing how to the Job of a Coach.
If he the Only Coach in the World who knows how to the Job, Then Why His Team is not Worlds' No. 1 or No. 2 Team.
I agree with Mr.Miadad on this issue. This type of decision by a team not only discourage the moral of the player but also indicates lacks of coordination between players in a team, which is a serious issue for the game like cricket which is purely a team game. I think a ideal leader is the one who coordinates before taking the major decision to the teammates who is going to get affected by that. For a player with sachin cadre, making 6 runs is the issue of not more than 1 extra over. In my opinion, in the conditions where the pitch is not supporting bowlers and the team is already in a very strong position playing an extra 1 over, which can give some encouragement to a player like sachin, is the most wise decision a captain should make. I think this may happened due to lack of leadership experience in dravid but he should take this issue as a learning point and should not commit similar mistake again. Even sachin should take this with a playing spirit and should try to keep his commitment and confidence level high.
It is totally unfair with sachin. Team management shold think so many times before taking unmature decession like this. we pray god in future this type of event should not happen.
I have read Javed Miandad's comments on Indian team's declaration in Multan and Sachin's incomplete double century.
Just who the hell is this Javed poking his nose in Indian cricket team affair. I would like to point the following:
1. Javed is trying to settle scores with Imran Khan by taking advantage/example of Indian team captain's decision. He is saying Imran was vindictive, whereas we all know for sure the gentleman Dravid is. He may have lacked in communicating with Sahin about his decision but there was no malice involved, unlike Pakistani cricketers, who are forever trying to score one up on each other.
2. Javed is trying to poke his nose and being patronising unnecessarily and sowing seeds of distrust in the mind of Sachin. But Sachin is a great player and so is Dravid. Stay away, Javed and keep your jumping jack tactics and advice for your own team. Speak when you are spoken to.
3. Finally, he is unnecessarily comparing Viru with that Afridi, whose selection in Pak team in the past and future is uncertain. By putting Afridi in line with Sehwag, he is giving respect to Afridi, where none is due.
This types of statements can create misunderstanding within the 'Team India'.Whatever may be the cause for that abrurt declaration,we should now forget the past and concentrate for the future.
