by vipin on Aug 02, 2004 12:04 AM

india has a huge potential and can win world cup 2007

yes india has a huge potential to win the next world cup , it only need to exercise their final matches scores they should meditate and think positive.
as the coach john gave the indian team the new colours of victory so it is possible to cover every aspect of cricket with a relax smile and cool head .

worst opening pair
by vinoth on Jul 23, 2004 11:45 AM

the main reason we lost the match is because of the opening pair.always schewag used to start the shots immediatly when he comes to the pitch.where sachin on the other end get's settled very cooly since the runs are comming for us by any way.so after some time sachin used to play shots.even if schewag goes out, sachin will manage to keep the scores up.

Ganguly's decision is not a fair one to accept in many cases like this

How many we got to see sachin like this
by raj on Jul 20, 2004 06:00 PM

Hey ,
I ,we are tired of seeing sachin playing loose shots and getting out when India requires. It time to adopt a round robin method like australians.
And ganguly need not retire but should explain to indian fans why parthiv is 16 member team .

why did Parthiv open
by jaideep on Jul 20, 2004 01:46 PM

I donot know why Parthiv Patel open i donot understand
when there is Verru then what is the use of trying such a hopeless thing. Parthiv Patel should come 1 down or 2 down .

the team did well but erred in some crucial decisions
by Emil Fred on Jul 20, 2004 02:43 AM

the indian teams performance did me proud... they did well to take the fight to end.. really the Lankan lions ever roared.... they just scraped through...and just survived the scare because they were hosts.....

Two big decisions which affected the match was the avoding of VVS n putting in patel... true he is a good keeper but wat does he do with a bat... even v club plyers can do the same he does if v were put in as batsmen in ODI's.... VVS may have failed in one match against the UAE buttats the rust factor... he should have been included in a crucial match like one with SL

And Sachin was never allowed to bowl even if Gaunguly himself came in to bowl and gave quite a few in 2 overs.... true tat sachin might prove expensive on days but an imp fact is he breaks partnerships tat r very set batsmen... it is to be noted tat strong partnership was basis for Sl's high score....

True many other factors were there to decide the outcome of match but these r the factors which india could have taken inorder to ensure their victory....

New no-ball rule
by Muralee on Jul 20, 2004 01:07 AM

I read somewhere that the new noball rule will be followed in the asia cup'04. By this rule, the batsman gets a freeball after a noball, to which he can play any shot and doesnt get out.

As usual, I observed that Sachin got out just after a noball. Technically he should not be out, right?(as it is a free-ball)
