Tendulkar's Secret

Well done Tendulkar. I always wondered whether we were as charitable as the Australians. It is great to know that we too are doing our part.

Tendulkar's secret
by Pradeep on Sep 06, 2003 09:41 AM

Dear Editor,
I hope that this will not be used by his "blind" supporters to
justify the Ferrari Freedom, as if, giving x amount in one area
justifies him "begging for" concession in another area to the tune
of Y multiplied by x!!!!

Using the same logic, as an Engineer if I build 3 strong bridges,
will I be allowed to build one that collapses(not collapses by
accident, but designed to collapse on demand)!!

Or as Politician, I negotiate one good contract for the country
and now, I can take kick back in another!

Or as a doctor, for every 100 lives I save, is it ok if I kill 3
by Govt Permission!! Do I get licence to kill 3??????

How ridiculous!!

If he is donating from the money he has, it does not entitle him
to take it back from other legitimate tax payers.

Pradeep

PS: Dear editor, If you have objection to the word "begging" or
"blind" used above, please substitute with words that you consider
proper.

Sachin's charity
by shashidhar on Sep 06, 2003 09:37 AM

Cut the crap! This seems to be a belated and silly attempt at post-Ferrari damage control by Sachin. It is definitely in poor taste. The so-called 'secret charity' of our selfish cricketing icons are mere peanuts. It is enough if these fellows just paid up their taxes promptly. But is that asking for too much from them? After all they are not mere mortals, but demi-gods ! Sickening.

Damage Control
by IYER on Sep 06, 2003 09:20 AM

Hats off Sachin for the noble deed. But, when it is out at the time he is embroiled in the Ferrari import controversy it seems its a damage control idea given by his spin doctors. After all, they have to milch this brand cow more and cannot afford to allow his image to be sullied at this point of time.

Tendulkar's secret is out

Kudos to our players who upheld the ethics for Charity laid down by our ancient sages and seers. They say that the charity done by your right hand should not be known even to left hand. This will ensure that people who charity will not become egoistic of their charity.

I wish them all the more success for upholding the traditions of this land IN SPIRIT.

Let the media understand there is much more than what they feel they know.....sorry

charity work of endulkar

hi,
happy to know that Indians are getting attention from the godly Indian cricketeers. We get to know about S.Waugh et al. If Sachin is so conscientious, why didn`t he come forward and offer IT on his new Ferrari and leave the waiver deal to State & Central govts? He would won more hearts by that gesture! good luck to those Indians on whom the KIND eyes of Cricketing gods has set its sight!
Jai Hind! jai Hind! Jai Hind!

His secret was out a long time back !!!
by Shaw on Sep 06, 2003 07:17 AM

Tendulkar is a great batsman. With the massive wealth
he has accumulated, he should have paid the duty(of Rs.1.13 cr)on his gifted Ferrari instead of pleading for a waiver. He used his status as a top cricketer to extract favours. He has fallen in my eyes. Now bragging about his doing charity only makes it worse. You are NOT a great human being, Sachin, so don't pretend otherwise. Just win as many games for India in cricket as you can.
