This is an appeal to BCCI and Indian fans. Let bygones be bygones! If Warne, Mark Waugh, Gibbs and Lara who were all alleged to be somehow a part of the same game that Azzu was accused of(without any proof, what so ever, leaving Hansie's allegation of introductions..to the fixers)can represent their countries, why torture a living legend like this! My heart bleeds for the fallen hero! No country did such injustice to their own hero. I think, BCCI was in some kind of pressure from other cricketing countries. Azzu is a victim of jealousy of some former cricketers and a few big names in and off the field. I am sure this appeal will be found 'not suitable for other readers' as it's a mine of controvercies! I wish Azzu gets his due...
Azhar ia a Great Captain. His statement have to be accepted bcaz his experience cant explain in words who played 334 one-dayers. He know what to do in the field bcaz he won many and many matches in his captaincy.
Its good to see that the media (rediff.com) has contacted and talked to Azhar. He's sucha a great experienced and successful captain. The court and the commisions are doing their job to confirm whether or not Azhar was a culprit.
But, public and the media need not to do it. He should be allowed to interact, talk and share his experiences and do good to our Cricket.
I loved this article and the positive attitude shown in his comments.
I too feel that the Indians should try to score on every opportunity they get. Just hanging in there won't help. They should bat cautiously in the first 15-20 overs and after that they should bat more positively and score freely. They should score as many runs before the second new ball, as they have always struggled after that. Most of the top order batsmen who survive don't last long after the second new ball, after which the tail is exposed. And we all know how capable the last four batsmen are of scoring runs, as we saw in the Tri-Series final. They can hardly put on 20 runs, so our only hope is to score as many runs as possible before the second new ball is taken!
Azharuddin led India only once in Australia, not twice as your article says. He only led in 1991-92 tour and the world cup immediately follwoed that on the same trip.
