media must have some character
by satya on Nov 20, 2003 12:08 PM

Media must maintain a character in India. First the media made him a most hatred person and now they are writing articles about him publishing his ideas and giving a impression as he was falsely implicated. I think Azhar deserves to be totally neglected, that is the only punishment people can give him as there is no law in India to punish the powerful and affluent people in India.

Playing positively....
by Rajeev Balakrishnan on Nov 20, 2003 11:36 AM

Azhar has hit the nail on the head when he talks about the need for playing positively. If one may add one has to only look at Sachin's ability and Dravid's solidity to take heart and look at winning against a powerful team like Australia. However having said that one also needs to look at the exclusion of Murali Karthik as something unwarranted and unfortunate especially in view of the fact that Ray Price from Zimbabwe another left arm spinner was one of the most succesful bowlers in Australia during the recently concluded series. The selectors have blundered by excluding him from the team especially after his decent performance in the series against west indies and the recently concluded TVS cup. Looks like you need a godfather like Dalmiya to be on the tour to Australia. Iam sure Deep Dasgupta will second me on that!

Change the team

laxman is good player in test matches but he is very bad player in one day matches ,we hve seen that in many matches also so why we need to include him in oneday by seening his past records in oneday matches ,he is an selfish player we saw him in the gwalior matches at the 44th over instead of hitting the ball to the boundary an well setteled batsman waiting for his century if agarkar and yuraj wouldnt have socored quickly we would have lost the match .And why dont u drop the players whoever r not in form and give the chance to youngsters who ever in form like badani ,murali karthik, and drop players like laxman from one-day squad and kaif give him the chance one-down bcoz many time he has performed well at that stage ,dropping him from the tvs cup final made a big diffrence bcoz he has big strength playing underpressure and his fielding ,u see in the world-cup also he is the only person who has taken many tough catches that would certainly make the difference.india plays defeat any one in the world only austrailia the indian team has the ability to beat autrailia also only thing is phycologically the r nerves they shld ply +vely, akashchopra wont suit for autrailiancondition M-patel

Dear Sir,

I agree with Azhar that only a positive outlook can make Indians achieve what they want ; be it any team.
The self confidence and will power of each batsman and bowler is what counts for what best he can contribute, either in terms of runs or wickets or maiden overs. While seeing Indians batting, I remebered Azhar for his unique and remarkable style of batting and fielding ; especially flicking off the toe, an expert he was ofcourse. It is unfortunate that we miss such a class player.
