Fix the schedule and the pitches and till lose
by Gurpreet on Nov 19, 2003 05:36 AM

Indian Cricket team take a bow, The Smart people running Cricket, Fixed the Schedule and provided sporting pitches, if only they were able to fix the results you might have won.
At least when NZ Cricket Association did the above their team actually won.
No Glen McGrath, Jason Gillespie, Brett Lee And for once Mr Khan actually was able to bowl 6 good overs and still no victory.
INDIAN CRICKET TEAM: Please add a small and simple thing called HEART to your itinerary to Australia.

Sachin gets man of the series
by sesh on Nov 19, 2003 05:10 AM

So again, how many matchwinning performances has he given in this series. He has offlate become another Gavaskar making his centuries and leaving the field way before India gets to a comfortable scores. He consistently fails to perform in crucial matches and finals. But ... media just glorifies him and makes sure that he gets the man of the match/series. This is a shame!!!!

India should retire from world class cricket
by Manav on Nov 19, 2003 04:48 AM

I would suggest the indian team to retire from International Cricket.I dont know why they play with the game with neglegence."Yuvaraj singh" must be taught a lesson. It is shame on Lakshman's part that he dropped 4 catches. If Shewag has a problem facing Nathen, he should have attended a councelling from his coach or his captian, why play with fear?.What happend to Rahull dravid? know as "The ROCK" who always plays the role of sheet anchor. Why did he play unnecessary shots(playing reverse sweep)?.He knew that he is the one who has to stay till the end,why was he so reckless? I agree he has demonstrated amazing captaincy in the match(field placement, bowling attack), but he is one among the responsible for todays failure. Salvi , the man with no confidence, why did the selectors pick him, whos fit for nothing, when they had many other choices? I stay 10,000 miles away from India,I take off from work, forgo my sleep to watch India play what do I get? Shame ? They are many people like me in India and abroad who have faith in their team. Please dont let us down. I agreee that we cannot win all maches we play, but we cannot loose all we play either. I Love my team and I really mean it.

Person to blame
by Mukund on Nov 19, 2003 04:12 AM

Despite a good fight, India has gone down again to Australia. Can we see Sachin, pulled up once for failing? Every time we hear the same excuses, that we cant expect him to be a match-winner all the time. This raises the question, when was he a match winner in a match of importance recently? (Other than the match against Pakistan in WC '03)

no salvi
by Pritesh on Nov 19, 2003 03:38 AM

I don't think salvi can be a handy bowler as he releases the ball from his hand in a manner which doesn't generate any kind of movement in the delivery

No problem, If India loses, Brand Sachin shines
by Sudeep on Nov 19, 2003 02:39 AM

What if India loses, Brand Sachin Shines. Australians won't mind Tendulkar making runs, as long as they are winning.

Australia win tri-series
by Sudip on Nov 19, 2003 01:02 AM

Very true, 'catches win matches'.
Right from the time we dropped so many catches, we didn't deserve to win. In fact a win here might have proved detrimental as all the fielding goof-ups would have been forgotten.
If Michael clark can make 44 off 28 balls when the ball is old and the pitch in very similar condition to when we started our innings then what happened to tendulkar against the new ball which suits stroke play more.

loss
by paul on Nov 19, 2003 12:53 AM

The loss was due to poor catching, poor batting
and poor team selection

1) Laxman alone dropped 4 or 5 catches. Is he good
for one day matches ? I dont know.

2) 5 bowlers? mistake # 2. and we could not use
the 5.
3) why keep even shewag? has been a winner ever?
why not try Sriram or Gavaskar . You might
ask why Gavaskar? Look at his perfomance. when
it matters he will deliver. he has aggression.

4) why cant we try VST Naidu as WK. try for
5 matches and if he is not good drop him

Why couldn't we select the team to australia
later after evaluating all this people

I had great hope for Kirmani. but he too let us
down ..
