Puyol shd got red card for the act on Roben , instead british refree shown yellow card to Roben. What a shame ???? FIFA fixes this world cup every 4 years to grow its revenues.

Puyol did not fouled roben purposefully, but roben acted in a such a way to get free kick and of course penalty kick. Then he ran behind refree to get free kick. what a drama and acting.anyway roben have to get oscar award rather than yellow card for his act. he is very gud in acting and he proved his acting before also during English premier league and not having any sportsman spirit
Really because of their less stamina and physique we cannot even qualify asian games. We need solid puttars from North side mainly Punjabis to induct into this game and ofcourse the rigourous training and international coach. I would request the Cricket authority to divert some money of huge money earned in IPL matches.

Gajanan, frankly ... who told you to rely on Bengalis for Indian football? Why did the North Indians' interest fizzle out in soccer even after producing top level national players (Jarnail Singh, etc.) from Punjab? If you have an iota of knowledge about Indian soccer history, it was the Bengal brigade (led by PK Bannerjee) who put India on top of the Asian football map in the 1960s... And you are complaining about less stamina and physique ... Ha ha ha ... a little knowledge is a dangerous blunder ... my dear Ganesh!

Before commenting, have a look at the Indian Football Team. There are only 2 Bengalis who are in the playing eleven. Subrata Pal and Dipak Mondol. The team has players from Goa, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur and even Punjab.
Why do we watch sport ? For the fun, excitement and enjoyment ? Wasnt much ter is spains game throughout the tournament as much as was with Germany and Argentina to name a few.....It was not exciting , it was shrewd ,tactical and clinical football which would have pleased the purists, but like i said even ball possesion and ball control are special skills....not everyone has it... :) So while the best team won, im sure there are millions of unsatisfied fans,i for one am....for teh sheer lack of flair and zing.....!

I think coach Dunga and Maradona is responsible for this. The ARROGANT Dunga didn't include the 'Eye Pleasing' Ronaldinho. Supporters of Brazilian team begged him to include Ronaldinho but he not only refused their plea but also applied European style of football which is more defensive and less attractive compared to South American free flowing SAMBA style of football. Maradona on the other hand did his best and he got the best allround player Messi in his rank but he not able to apply right tactic too. He also excluded brilliant playmaker Cambiaso (remember him for his Cambiaso goal in the 2006 world cup). In the game against Germany their players looked totally confused that "what to do?" Actually Maradona failed to understand that for success in modern football there should be a blend of tactical and defensive style too with their Samba style against big European teams like Germany and Spain.
European style is always tactical and to some extent boring but Spain's game was watchable this time, it just that they not able to CONVERT the chances created by their 'HALL OF FAME' midfielders Xavi,Iniesta, Xabi Alonso and Fabrigas.

is paul ur good friend then pls ask him on my behalf when will some of my problems in my life which i am facing get solved
I think Spain deserve to win this fiery battle. Although the game was not at the level as it should have been. Both the teams players were very tense throughout the match. Dutch really played very rough and their player De Jong deserve a red card for his shameless kick to Xabi Alonso. But hay they not able to upset 'The King' Xavi and 'The Magcian' Iniesta and in the end when they find their rhythm with the help of 'The Exiting' Fabrigas (who should have played much early in the match), Spain looked again invincible ! For me Iniesta was not off side in that winning goal coz he was inside the defender when the ball reached him and according to the off side rule you can't give a player off side unless he get the ball and Iniesta didn't get the ball when he was off side initially!

Bogus Spain. Yet to see a duller and dumber game in final. Absolute bogus and third-rate goal by Iniesta.
NO wonder, Forlan and Mueller and Klose will be remembered in this cup, and not the good-for-nothing Spain wins of 1-0 margins throughout the cup.

go get a life dude..........I think u r not able to rate the best generation of footballers who played for Spain. It was really ugly to see the rough game played by Dutch. I think u have a preoccupied mind thats why not able to understand the magic of 3 greatest midfielders of all time Xavi, Iniesta and Fabrigas
Re: Re: Re: Once upon a time there was a A King and A Magician

Accept that Spain had the best midfielders in this tournament. But they did not shine in the final match. This is a fact ... That Netherlands is a hard tackling team -- everybody knew since the beginning of the tournament. So you can't give such an excuse for the best midfield side to put up such a drab show in the final match. Actually both teams had big things at stake ... first time world cup win. So neither went all out to pip the other at the cost of making a defending mistake.

it is spain and grear ro see spain win.gr8 to see dutch loose.they played dirty and negative football exceat for Robben.
Spain did not deserve to win the cup. I'm yet to see a more dumber final than today's. Their 1-0 wins throughout the tournament sucks and squeezed the fun and excitement from the World Cup.
Brilliant teams of Germany, Uruguay lighted up the tournament.

Did you see the loan goal scored by Spain ? Can you compare it with any of the German goals or Forlan's goals or Robben's goals ? And it does not even hold a candle to Klinnsman, Maradona, Zidane goals.

mohan go back to chennai.Spain was only tream to deserve title but they took time bcos dutch played negative football and got highest number of yellow and red cards.
