somewhere someone saying mani the parrot vs paul the octopus, was like comparing rakhi sawant to julia roberts, come on paul is proven with some supernatural powers, compare to thug baba's parrot who jumped to gain publicity.

Stop this crap... Octopus also predicted Germany's win in EURO 2008 but that was wrong.... These type of predictions are nothing but a way to hide our fear.. Nothing else... Why to blame the poor animals for all these nonsense.. They don't even know what is Football and who is Spain and Netherlands...

You played very well despite the rough mean tactics of desperate Netherlands.

Netherland was playing the same trick (mischief) that worked against Brazil - Commit foul and fake injury to dislodge opponents well known passing game.

It did not work against Spain. A rabbit may be get killed once by a falling jack fruit - Not all the times.

The simulation master Robben should have got the red card.

Any player whom Bala does not like should get the RED CARD ...
So let us show Bala the RED CARD and kick him out of this forum.
I am not a Robben fan, but stupid commenters and people do not understand soccer have no place in this forum.

Negative tactics will not make you the champion.

The Dutch team definitely played well, but they also tried the tactics that Argentina played against Germany in 1990. But this match was very tight and not as dull as 1990 final.

Absolutely, the changes in cricket after 1991 to suit the commercial interests of the consumer companies in India, they killed cricket with flat pitches, heavy bats and batsmen friendly rules.

Thank God, Football remains the most popular in the original form for decades.

The defense was marvelous for both sides. Otherwise there were matches where goals came too many in this world cup.

Football is a great game and it should remain in the original form. Thats the beauty about it.

Broing boring world cup!
by nisha thoas on Jul 12, 2010 03:09 AM  | Hide replies

So much hype, and the end we got 0-0 adter 117 mins of negative football. 3-4 chances here and there, but the kicking, diving and acting was a disgrace. 12 cards in all tells its own story. Football is a joke now, with negativity and safety first all around. And IPL, for all its faults, produces more thrills and excitement in 5 mins than todays match in 120 mins. Bring on 20-20 cricket please. Thank god the cup is over!

Do you know that World Cup Football is the biggest sport event on this earth. But it is certainly not for cricket crazy Indian like you. You forget that this was the final of the finals.

So, better you enjoy getting fooled by watching fixed matches by corrupt BCCI and their sponsors.

GO to sleep. Its too late in the night. Your champions trouphy is starting soon, where one over will be end in 5 mins and match will continue for around 300 min. Best of luck with that. OOOHHH before that you will have to once again watch India-Srilanka match perhaps 100th time during this year, where same old dirty faces will play with each other. One man will be bowling, one will be batting and 10 other will be standing/ taking rest. Some of them will continue for 5 full days and will emd up in tame draws. AAAHHH what an agony?

was a great game & wonderful football shown by both sides, but Spain deserved more to win than Dutch. To me both the Goal Keepers are man of the match. But the Man of the Tournament is our dear "Octopus Baba" Mr.Paul. What amazing predictions yaar..!!! God save him from the hands of goons before they kill him.

You are right. Just saw the replays. What Akshat Saxena has written is correct.

The Dutch side showed a lot of resentment, but it was unnecessary.

No it was not. The 1st strike was offside marginally. But the 2nd pass to Iniesta was not offside. He was well within the range & onside.

When the Ball was played/passed to Iniesta he was onside. There were 2 Dutch Defenders behind him

Jatin is correct. When Torres passed the ball, Iniesta was marginally offside, within human error limit though(referees cant be that precise to give 1 feet offside decisions), but when Xavi passed to Iniesta as assist, Iniesta was well behind two of the Dutch defenders.
