It is a Euphemism of Indian Courts definition for awarding captial punishment- THE RAREST OF RARE CASE which means only the poor people can be sent to gallows while the rich can getaway with the Supreme Courts arbitrary decision of this rule.

poor Pakistanis are a little dumb so they put this blood money theory!

Both are the same!

are they ?? if any rich people escape it is due to corruption of people and current state of country, but in principle all are treated equal.

Here however in principle itself sharish advicates something so primitive and disgusting.

Are you just trying to console yourself that u follow a religious code with such antiquated idea still in practise.

Dear Siddhartha,

Here atleast the blood relatives are pardoning the murderer.

In India a third person i.e. the President of India pardons his or her choice of murderers based on the so called advice of his council of ministers headed by the Prime Minister.

These people have nothing to do with the killed person but their perceived wisdom which actually their own self interests of siding with influential sections of the society.

Tell me which rich man got hanged by the Indian Govt and its judiciary in its independent history?

The last man hanged was Dhananjoy Banerjee who is a poor fellow!

"Developing scientific temper."

how many discoveries and inventions have been made by muslims in last 500 years ? .. one common denominator amongst muslims across the glkobe is they are the most primitive minded people..wonder where the scientific temper is amongst muslims ?

"Ridding of the caste system"

its already been rid of :)..it was an awfull system indeed but atleast an atempt is being made to correct the wrongs of past.

"2. Ridding of worshipping cows and other 1 million gods"

so you say that without any idea og hindu philopshy ? the vedic tradition is far far more sublime and advanced in spiritual phiosophy than islam..which is a primitive barbaric system./

" Ridding of superstitions."

u mean to say there arent superstitions amongst muslims ??

1 million or 1.Both are non-existant.Worshipping both is foolishness.

Islam is the way to get rid of superstitions.LOL.Then why do suicide bombers blow themselves apart??

Earth is flat and sun sets in muddy pool. This is called scientific temper.Correct!

Well, with the civil society of Pakistan needs the support of the West so that extremists do not take over the country they do not mind Davis being let out.

So for the Pakistani administration the trouble is not from the civil society but from the religious extremists who already had given a warning to kill those officers if Davis is let out.

Ironically, these religious extremists are the creation of Saudi to support their own existence in the Arab world.

These extremists are dependent on Saudi for funds etc.,.

With the middle east burning, the Saudis need the Wests support more than ever.

So it is a sort of quid proquo by the Saudis to the West.

Saudis placated their wards in Pakistan and assured the Pakistani administration that there wont be any backlash from their boys- and they also suggested this blood money route so that they can convince their wards that Shariat law is being enforced and not the Original Pakistani law which is derived from English Jurisprudence.

All are happy except those who were dead by bullets of Davis and under the American SUV tyres!

1. US got their man by paying a little money which anyway will be recovered by inflating the arms sale bill to Pak.

2. Pak judiciary is happy as they convicted Davis for murder.

3. Extremists are happy as Shariat Law enforced.

4. Civil society is happy as Taliban will not take over.

5. Pak Govt is happy as US not after them.

6. Kin of dead are richer!

MERA PAKISTAN MAHAAN!

This is far from over. The US has long memory. And one day in the not-too-distant future, the compusion to maintain leverage over India via Pakistan will have diminishing returns. It's already happening, just that the eyes need to be trained to see, which our naighbor is doing an excellent job of.

BLOOD MONEY IN SHARIAT LAWS
by syedaftab on Mar 16, 2011 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

THIS TERM IS USED IN THE LAWS OF SHARIAT AS "QASAS" WHICH MEANS THAT IF VICTIM'S DEPENDANTS AGREE TO ACCEPT COMPENSATION IN COMPROMISE IT IS PERMITTED AND THE ACCUSED MAY PARDONED.I THINK I AM CORRECT IN INTERPRETING THE LAW OF SHARIAT.HOWEVER THIS PURELY MATTER OF ULEMAS TO EXPLAIN THE LEGAL POSITION OF SHARIAT.
