Rabindranath himself wrote in this regard...[ Excerpt from wikipedia]
"A certain high official in His Majesty's service, who was also my friend, had requested that I write a song of felicitation towards the Emperor. The request simply amazed me. It caused a great stir in my heart. In response to that great mental turmoil, I pronounced the victory in Jana Gana Mana of that Bhagya Vidhata [ed. God of Destiny] of India who has from age after age held steadfast the reins of India's chariot through rise and fall, through the straight path and the curved. That Lord of Destiny, that Reader of the Collective Mind of India, that Perennial Guide, could never be George V, George VI, or any other George. Even my official friend understood this about the song. After all, even if his admiration for the crown was excessive, he was not lacking in simple common sense."
So it were British who were tyring to malign Tagore..those who haven't read him..I suggest to read his essays 'Nationalism' and 'Sadhana'

We have known this for years and have protested for to be changed to vande matrum. Or the national anthem that was written and recited by Netaji Subash Chander Bose and other freedom fighters. They all know ho the Bharat s bagh e vidata was. The song was written to welcome king George of England when he visited India. The gateway of India at Mumbai was also built for that purpose. Proper history is not being taught in INDIA. if you want facts the you should pay a vist to India office library and BBC archives in London. ALL WILL BE REVEALED IN GLORIES BLACK AND WHITE.

go sing Iqbal the fanatics tarana ..Iqbal the guy who dreamned of Pakistan is idolized by your Urdu loving idiots..you make movies in Urdu and call it Hindi..confused or what? listen moron Tagore is the soul of India.
We can elect the leaders who have scant regard for national anthem but when somebody honestly tries to make a statement using national song we starts crying. I have listened the song and felt the song as an honest attempt from filmmakers. Our national anthem belongs to us,A single person cannot distort the song of 1 billion people. It is all in our mind and we continuously want to live in a feudal society where everything belongs to government. An appeal to all who are opposing this,at least listen the song once before taking any side.Filmmakers or song doesn't have any bad intention.
mr Sarim Momin what do u think of urself.. remember haqeekat... kar chale hum fida song which was shown free in theatres during 1962 war to encourage indians join army and it paid off dividends.. do u remember aey mere watan ke logon making the PM nehruji cry
