Its a disgrace to the country, no country in the world makes a mockery of their National Anthem...

It is also surprising there has not been any protest, rather we are waiting to make this as a topic for debate...

Stop this nonsencical thing immediately, stern actions needs to be taken against the producer & individuals involved in this sarcasm...

When people dont mind mocking the national language...how can u expect them to respect the national anthem..they will respect it only if it is sung in their native language.

Jan gan rann

Today's Nationalanthem was written by Ravindra Nath Tagore a great admirer of British King or I would like to opine that the Nobel winner was an admirer of British slavery. He wrote this song in the praise of the British King when he visited India. He calls him "Bharat Bhagya Vidhata" that means the King was then the Bhagya Vidhata of India since he was ruling the Country. It is shame on the Part of Pandit Nehru the firs Prime Minister of India that he accepted this British Kings' praise as our Nationalanthem. In my view the song written by the great writer of Bengal Shri Bankim chandra Cahttopadhya "Bandemataram" is the real nationalanthem which should be adopted now replacing the British praise. "Bandemataram" is the real "Bandana" of the Mother India. The presant nationalanthem deserves to be adopted by film producers and the distortion is not a disrespect to the Nation but to the British crown.

Ghanshyamji,

This is beyond your knowledge. Read the song and try to understand the meaning. Don't you think that the first Prime Minister of India was a great scholar and he had not made any mistake by accepting this song ? There are some people like you without knowing properly express their views in such a foolish way.

Do you have any sense , what you are talking about , do you have any knowledge of Bengali literature to understand the meaning of the song . It was he who renounced the title 'SIR ' to protest the Jalianwalabag massacre ,it was he who started the 'RAKHI ' utsav to protest against the division of Bengal , and here you just for the sake of seeing your name in a website maligning him , shame on you .

Dear Sir

Please get your facts right before you write such things about Rabindra Nath Tagore.

You have no right to malign a renowned figure who has done country great.

If Tagore had foreseen such citizens like you, he would have died out of shock.

Love your country, know your leaders and people who has done country proud. Spend time to know about the rich heritage about the country.

It is the bad luck of our country to have such citizens like you, who will always act like a crab.

Jana gana mono is not the ultimate song( or anthem).Like our anthem, any nation may have his better song or some percentage of people may have other choice. But once that was accepted, we as Indian should respect it. Please don't derail from the actual topic.

British were trying to malign Tagore using Press
by upekshit hai on Jun 02, 2009 04:29 PM  | Hide replies

Rabindranath himself wrote in this regard...[ Excerpt from wikipedia]

"A certain high official in His Majesty's service, who was also my friend, had requested that I write a song of felicitation towards the Emperor. The request simply amazed me. It caused a great stir in my heart. In response to that great mental turmoil, I pronounced the victory in Jana Gana Mana of that Bhagya Vidhata [ed. God of Destiny] of India who has from age after age held steadfast the reins of India's chariot through rise and fall, through the straight path and the curved. That Lord of Destiny, that Reader of the Collective Mind of India, that Perennial Guide, could never be George V, George VI, or any other George. Even my official friend understood this about the song. After all, even if his admiration for the crown was excessive, he was not lacking in simple common sense."

So it were British who were tyring to malign Tagore..those who haven't read him..I suggest to read his essays 'Nationalism' and 'Sadhana'
