Thilakan is a versatile actor and almost all roles are safe in him. Its really a visual treat to see him performing in films. But I don't know why this great actor is always blaming Mammooty and Mohanlal. He is of the opinion that they are just film stars and not Superstars.A star who has the ability to attrat the crowd to his film, even if the film is directed by a new director is surely a superstar because he has the ability to take the film on his shoulders.A Superstar can give an initial collection which no other ordinary stars can guarantee. So there is no doubt that Mammooty and Mohanlal are Superstars. Can anyone please tell me in which film Thilakan have out performed Mammooty and Mohanlal. The best combination scene of Thilakan with the Superstars are on Kireedom and Sphadikam. I don't think there is anyone who is of the opinion that Thilakan out performed Mohanlal in these two films. The next thing is the Nair group - I don't think Mohanlal will try to isolate you because you are from the Ezhava community. Mohanlal's best friend and his favourite co-star Mukesh and his favourite director Sathyan Anthickad are ezhavas. So please don't talk rubbish. Now the the furture Superstar 'Prithviraj' Who told you that stars will fund someone for booing his films. He have acted in almost 20 films in which there are 1 blockbuster, 1 Superhit, 1 hit, 2 average grosser. How can a person who have 15 flops in his total 20 films going to be a threat to Superstars.

i agree with this message 100%. thilakan is a great actor, that we all agree. but for what use he is blaming the big M's.may be for a popularity hike.even this interview captures us with its very title. we are eager what Mr.Thilakan is going to tell next about our heroes. and why u introduced Nair lobby into this. COMPLEXES PLAY THE ROLE......THATS ALL.
Please note you are one of the finest artist this century has and it is proud to tell that you are a Malayali and live within every Malayali's heart...Every person has a role to perform and i would say you are just superb in whatever you do. Good people are always remembered when they leave us....this is the truth of emerging societies and thoughts.
I request all malayalis to come together to support the genius.
Dear Thilakan Sir,
Please do not get upset. There exist a power which will take care of everything

The Gentleman who punched the words above is neither has any basic knowledge about Kerala nor has made any efforts to understand Malayali culture & contributions.
1.India is among the few nations in the world whcih naver came under Millitary Rule. Reason: In India all the 3 chiefs of armed forces, Army, Navy & Airforce, have given equal status. President of India is the Supreme Commander. And the Brain behind this idea was a Great Malayali Freedom Fighter, who later on became the 1st Defence Misniter of Independent India Mr. VK Krishna Menon.
2. When the highest literary award of 'Gyanpeeth' was instituted Mr. G Sankara Kurup was the first recepient, and who was 'unanimously' chosen.
3. Kottayam district of Kerala was the first district in this WORLD declared as 100% literate !!!
4. Six Actors & Three actresses from Malayalam Movies won Bharat & Urvashi Awards, so far.
5. As per the report by Ministry of Urban Development, about the top 10 'Livable Cities of India', 5 of them are in Kerala.
6. When asked to the then Railway Minsiter (Late) Madhav Rao Scindia, the why Kerala's Railway Divisions of Palghat & Trivandrum tops the charts of reveneus as compared to other divisons, his prompt reply was " Give me such public "
7. Chariman of LIC and of many nationalsied Banks are Malayalis.
Indeed, Malayalais are not the only ones who contributed in Nationa Building. But our share is neither small nor can be ignored.

One of my Mallu friends at IIM says..Kerala is a very well cultured, beautiful and peaceful state. The reason is because most Keralites leave the state and settle in other states or countries.

First time I find some one who openly exhibits his ignorance and is proud about it. Before writing any comments check the facts.

Mallus do know abt kannada and telugu. Malayalam movies are dubbed into telugu and likewise telugu movies are shown in kerala. Mohanlal recently is goin to act in kannada movies. Bangalore is the melting pot of keralites, tamilians, and telugus.
I am a malayalee, and i love kannda movies before. Now ther are no good stories and i love dr.rajkumar and felt sad when he passed away and also when he was kidnapped.
Mohanlal and kannada actor vishnuwardhan are good freinds too.
Its so hard to rate who is the best among south indian cinema. They all equally are excellent and great thing is they exist and not one industry in south as overshadowed or compltly removed another industry.
There are 3 actors in malayalam can compete with any actors in the world. They are Nedumudi Venu,Thilakan and Jagathi. These 3 are the gifts to malayalam cinema ,
Undoubtedly one of the greats in Indian cinema. He has the ability to steal the show even if his role is limited. Keeridum is one of the best ever movie i have watched in malayalam movie. A father , mother & son's role is potrayed so well that there wont be any person who would have felt like crying watching the climax. he is such a versatile actor that he can do all forms of role. I think he cant be compared to anyone in Indian cinema. He is in league of his own. Wish God give him good health.
So what if he missed a National Award he will always be remembered for his beautiful roles. As far as national awards are considered just look at the people who have been awarded the same Saif Ali Khan, Karishma Kapoor myyyyyyyyyy god what rubbish i don't think he would be liked to be in the same league. HE IS A CLASS APART! These guys don't know the ABCD of acting. won't be surprised if Aishwarya Rai is given the best actress national award.... hope its not for dhoom.....u never know......

i agree with you.
Nobody could have done Thilakan's role better in movies like 'Kireedom' and 'Spadigam'. The last scene in Spadigam still moistens my eyes. He is an actor par excellence!
As for National awards, they are biased and they suck.
Kireedom was one of his best roles. Then of course Perumthachan was a classic. Moonampakkam was another brilliant essay. I fondly remember Kilukkam where he has a battle royal with Revathi. But it is with MT, Thilakan created magic.
