There is a huge rush to watch Rajnikanth on the silver screen in Chennai. And this time it is as Sivaji.
Amidst the crowd is 26-year-old Nagaraj. His love for the superstar helps him overcome his physical disability as he makes a desperate bid for tickets.
Also, in the kilometer long queue is 51-year-old Selvam, who jostles Rajni fans less than half his age.
Meanwhile, then there is 15-year-old Prakash who represents yet another growing generation of Rajni fans.
And they have all been waiting since 3:00 am in the morning, with the counter opening six hours later.
The tickets have been sold already so Nagaraj gets tickets for the fourth day. Selvam and Prakash also become successful to get tickets for the fourth day, this despite the film releasing in over 20 screens in the city.
Says Nagaraj, %u201C"Thalaiva, I will see your movie some how on the first day even if it costs me my life,%u201D
"There's only one leader for Tamil Nadu and that's our super star how can we miss his movie on the first day,%u201D adds Prakash.
The first few shows have been virtually taken over by 2,500 Rajni fan clubs in Chennai alone and 35, 000 across the state.

Who are the most jealous people in India. North India are more jealous. They think its them who is running the state. Though Bollywood is a bigger industry still they lack qualitiy and technical skills.

The reason why all Mumbai-based producers are coming down to Chennai is obviously the box office collection of Tamil films in recent times.
An ace Bollywood director-producer has entered Kollywood with Leelai Leelai, starring Madhavan and Shamita Shetty.
Bollywood producer Abbas Mastan is the producer of Maddy-starrer Ennavo Oruvan which will be released soon. UTV is the co-producer of Kannamochi Enada starring Sathyaraj-Prithiviraj, while Baba films is to produce two more films in Telugu and Tamil after Nenjirukum Varai.
Hindi director Bharat Bala is to direct a big-budgeted film in Tamil, which will have a Japanese production company as co-producers.
Tips audio is coming to Tamil with the remake of Amar Akbar Antony, the hit Hindi film of yesteryear. The reason why all Mumbai-based producers are coming down to Chennai is obviously the box office collection of Tamil films in recent times.
Most of the Hindi producers feel that in Hindi if the cost is incurred then it is a hit, while Tamil film figures show that for lesser investments the collections are good. The audience taste in Tamil Nadu was in sync with Hindi movie goers.
Yet another reason for investing in Tamil films was the boom in overseas market. It was in 1995 that Rajnikant-starrer Muthu opened up markets in Japan and UK.
