i think the govt should take immediate action and should ask them to stop the sales of these products immediately till the result come and if needed ban it when the result comes positive but till that time the company should stop production and sales
respected editor I think that it was the exact time for the centre for science and environment that it found out the toxic matter in the cold drinks while the companies were using much more than authorised quantity of pacticides. lastly i'll say that centre for science and environment did a good job and save the many lives.
After the Indipendence in 1947, once again we are under foreigners rule i.e, WTO(World Trade Organisation). It is better to stop all the MNC brands which are playing with our Indian peoples health and wealth.

Alas, it is attitudes like yours that allow India to remain 'a developing country'. It is not the MNCs that cause havoc, but our own people and our own benign lackadaiscal attitudes that create the mess that is our government, and our lack of social form.
Thanks to the CSE for such efforts - like ones they have done earlier too in keeping track of the environmental concens of the civil society... The finds about the soft drinks with pesticide residue is something small... How may of us consume these soft drinks 2 percent ok 4 percent of the population. my concern is how safe is our own wells and borewell from which we mine water day-in and day-out. Are they not polluted... dont we find pesticide residues in them... It is know fact that soft drinks are manufactured for minin such water... Although these companies had to maintain quality (mandatory) they where not the responsible of residues present already in water which they used for manufacturing soft drinks... The CSE has address only the symptom but not the problem or cause or source.... Hey all, the situation is grave, more than 95 percent of us both in village and cities are exposed to poor water quality every second, every minute, every hour, and everyday... I hope CSE will agree with this.
