Fresh mandate in W est Bengal
by Prashant Mardolkar on May 18, 2009 12:09 PM

The left always prided themselves as true leaders, they believe in mandate to rule.
Now they have lost the mandate to rule in Bengal.
They must go for fresh elections of Assembly. people of Bengal have lost faith in them, they have lost the trust.
Go for elections and regain the trust and faith to rule, Bengal

Evil force
by West Indian on May 18, 2009 12:08 PM  | Hide replies

No party in this country is an evil force. Because CPI and M are voted out he is calling them evil forces. Mr. Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury, shall note that wherever and whenenver congress were voted out, it could have been termed evil force. Cheap Thoughts. Mr. Krishnendu Narayan Choudhury, please get matured.

Itsvery easy to talk like that when you are sitting in Kolkata ( or you are a comrade). A party which buy the police force, the media, the intelligencia any decent person will call them evil. Just open your eyes and visit some villages in the Golden state of Bengal. And its not that TMC and Congress are without their set of blemishes. But yes they are better. I don't remember any other news paper than Ganashakti publishing that they are "Keeping an eye" on the intelligencia who are opposing the Government's attrocities. And in case you want to talk that trash about the Congress attrocities during 72-77, well here is the deal, I did not see that, but I am saying what I am seeing. May be you need to open your eyes as well. And BTW neither congress nor TMC ever called Uncle Sam their big daddy (our Chairman). Nor did they tie up with a party whose founder they called a dog (remember CPI called N. S. C. Bose Tojo's Dog).
So brush up your brain.
TMC and Congress are the lesser evil thats it.

yeah TMC switch party one time with BJP and then with congress..Sudip banerjee flip flopped with TMC and congress.. mamata said congress is CPIM's B team and then made an alliance with the same and you are saying about ideology...Left has also lost its ideology in a big way...but what about them...

Late Ajit paja left the party in disgust, same with pankaj bandyopadhyay...but still what to say....long live TMC....

0nly advantage of cong-tmc combine is that ,this generation of Bengal has not sen the FASCISM of congress before 1977. Rigging came to Bengal in 1971 election, encounter killing was started in INDIA by Bengal congress. "DEMOCRATIC" jumping on JPNarayan car at Cal by Didi( or Masi),Assembly attack etc are all innovativeideas of Cong. Hate leftists, no problem but donot justify a worse wrong-doer.

Thanks for calling me DA and FOOL at a time.During my 34years of servie in 7 states, which includes 12 years in industrial sectors of WB and 11 years in HYD and BANGALORE,I can clearely understand the difference. The hooliganism of CPM in Durgapur-Asansol belt had no difference with CONG in Malda both during CPM rule. If our politicians want seriously to do something for Bengal, they sud learn it from South or Gujrat--whonm Mamata praised so much only sometimes back.

History repeated itself. In 1977, the ppl were fed up with the hooliganism of the Cong workers, the govt. run police, the price hikes etc. Now it's the lack of development, hooliganism of the LF cadres, high-handedness & arrogance of the leaders and ppl sought a change again.
Remember one thing impartially, no politician is a "dhoa tulsipata". All have their own agenda. They may not be corrupt like their counterparts from the North, West & South but they definitely have their own agenda and it is not always people first.

Exactly, tell me one political party in india which is not corrupt. But the need of democracy is that the power must shift from one party to another. No matter what the result is. If TMC Cong is worse, then pple will bring back left and next time left as well as TMC Cong will be more cautious.
So I personally welcome the outcome.
But, I don't really think that pple's mandate is everything - because then Modi is not a sinner :).

Sir,in our country donot jump upon decisions of people on merit. We know the level of education of our people and such sins really donot reflect in the EVM.

Even Congress has been acting like evil force with all the money they are throwing in the bame of social walfare. All the scheme for political gain has to stop. It will cost the nation dearly. Socialist policy are useless, all the money goes to corrupt people. Poor remains poor. Thats why communist ideas were wiped off from the world.
Congress needs to focus on provinding job skills to masses, and build massive infrastsuctures. this 2 will make sure of business offices/shops grwoing and millions of jobs will be created for indians. India will run with jet speed on the economic path.

BJP is the only party in the country which is not trying to divide the country on caste basis.

All the other parties favour one caste or the other. Congress favours Bangladeshis.

THE LEFT DRIVEN OUT.
by Ramsingh Sachan on May 18, 2009 11:56 AM

THE ELECTION RESULTS THAT SUGGEST SERIOUS BEATING OF lEFT PARTIES SHOULD E WELCOME CHANGE IN THE HISTORY OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE COUNTRY..The Communists have failed to deliver mainly because they emphasise on distributive justice alone ad neglecting the efficient harvests from land, labour and capital resources. What to distribute when there is no commensurate production? The element of private initiative and productivity of personal talentt cannot be overlooked. The state cannot afford to discourage it without running the risk of under production, less efficient production and consequently very little to distribute among the labour force and managing for resources for big projcts needed for faster dvelopment.Hope the trend for total oblitteration of communism from the country will continue. The Congress and the TMC must put their heads together to give the country a sound and just land acquisition policy. The corporate houses should be asked to develop the waste and marginal lands first instead of occupying prime agricultural lands.I CAN ASSURE YOU THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF SUCH LAND IN THE COUNTRY FOR INDUSTRIAL PURPOSES.tHE FARMERS COMPENSATION PACKAGE NEEDS MUCH TO DONE.A national policy by consensus is urgently required on this.

Industry & WB
by ranadeep das on May 18, 2009 11:55 AM  | Hide replies

The generation above has seen how Left allies have halted the economic progress in West Bengal. A 30 mins drive to Howrah and Kalyani, two manufacturing belt nearby Kolkata shows the skeleton of West Bengal’s industrial hope. During 70s and 80s they have stopped mechanization and computerization with a ridiculous and arbitrary reason that machines will eat up people’s jobs. They have denied English language in schools with cheap vernacular sentiment, leaving behind uncompetitive young generation over three decades. My friends engaged with infrastructure MNCs say west Bengal is a least priority state for them because of unproductive environment and infamous Left tools like ‘Chakka Jam’ and ‘Go slow’. I have been visiting states like Gujarat, Maharastra, AP, Karnataka very frequently for last 8-9 years. I am amazed to see their infrastructure growth. We are talking about India alone. China and Singapore are miles ahead of India. Once upon a time, Kolkata was considered as knowledge hub of India. Since 1990, when education sector was opened up for private participation, Karnakata, TN, Maharastra left behind WB. Brains went outside WB far last 2 decades. During 80s they have stopped industrial growth and now they are unnecessarily subsidizing some industries that don’t create volume employment. Both are equally bad gesture. Hope the situation will improve now. Media penetration will create more awareness in rural and West Bengal will revive once more.
