INDIAN TEAM-RIP
by jaikishen sony on Oct 03, 2012 11:46 AM

WE DONT HAVE A PROPER BOWLING LINE UP TO DEFEND ANYTHING BATSMEN SHOULD MAKE MISTAKES AND GET OUT IS THAT WHAT DHONI'S THINKING ALL THE TIME.SEHWAG IS HOPELESS, GAMBHIR IS CLUELESS ON LANKAN PITCHES, ROHIT THINKS HE IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO INDIAN TEAM BEING TOUTED AS THE NEXT TENDULKAR.PATHAN'S BOWLING WAS CLUB CLASS ZAHEERS FADING AWAY INTO OBLIVION,BALAJI PATHETIC, BHAJJI IS GOOD IN PATCHES AS HE WAS TONKED ALL OVER THE PARK BY AUSSIES.

WE SHOULD REMOVE, SEHWAG, ROHIT, ZAHEER, BHAJJI, GAMBHIR FOR 20-20S

Losing

Problem was not losing to Australia but we allowed them to win in 15 overs. If we had tightened and made them to work for 19 or 20 overs, i would have been through

Dhoni's 2 flaws which cost the team dear
by Rachit Sharma on Oct 03, 2012 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

In my opinion, two primary reasons behind India's misfortune were:
1. Opting to bat first against Australia, despite rain threat looming. You know D/L Method favors chasing sides and also Dhoni has always said that India relies more on its batting. So batting first and expecting bowlers to defend against the mighty three of the Aussies was a big task and mistake.
2. Playing just 1 quality spinner and 3 pacers against South Africa. If Dhoni couldn't understand how Australia were beaten by Pakistan and India itself had decimated England, he perhaps can never learn. To win by this big margin, India had to go with Harbhajan in place of Balaji. But that just didn't happen.
3. Comprehensive batting failure is the next reason. Openers failed miserably as so did Rohit after the England game. Raina too mostly failed and you can find just one Indian- Kohli among the top 15 scorers of this World T20. Shame! Batting and not Bowling let us down his time.

The two tactical mistakes mentioned by me were, I believe, fundamental. Had the team somehow won, I would have still maintained these opinions. In fact, after I saw Dhoni electing to bat in the first super-eight and going in with just 1 spinner in the third, I knew in each case that the team wad doomed!

excellent points. But I wonder why everyone says Harbajan should have played inplace of Balaji. I would rather suggest, Replace pathan with Harbajan if the track suits spinners. We already have 7 solid batsmen and for a T20 game, if the top 7 can't play 20 overs, its a national shame. I just dont see any point in having an allrounder in the side. Also Ashwin can bat decently and can play at No 8. Remember, Balaji won us the game y'day by taking 3 wickets in the last over.

Fully agree with you. Bhajji should have been included in the playing eleven instead of Rohit. Infact Rohit was too slow today.

Everybody is guilty.
by S on Oct 03, 2012 11:39 AM

The captain again defended his decision to come down the order in the batting line-up.

"Apart from Virender Sehwag, there are only two players who can hit right from the start. They are myself and Suresh Raina". Is he joking? How many runs they scored in the last two overs when we played with SA.As they know the run rate is going to play a big role in this situation. Virat kohli and Yuvraj Sing also guilty. When we won the match against pakistan, they didn't try to increase the scoring rate. Almost two to three overs they wasted. They are not international players? That could have helped us.

Dhoni is master of excuses when it comes to defeat. We have seen enough of excuses during England & Australia tour last year.

Because of Rohith...
by mang on Oct 03, 2012 11:35 AM  | Hide replies

It was Rohith Sharma who screwed up Team's chances yesterday. First he wasted 27 balls to score his 23 and any one can see that he was playing for his place in the team than for the team. Then he gave 13 runs in one over at which point SA started recovering.
