An imp. series is going on and they are more concerned with the form of individual players and their retirement.

What are the selectors for? At the end of the series i am sure if there are concerns, the selectors will sit with the concerned player and take the due decisions.

But at least, don't try to damage the series by dissecting individual players as was done in Australia too earlier this year.

First learn to spell Gavaskar before trying to state facts. It is a tradition in India to make legends and Gods out of retired cricketers. Gavaskar was much more selfish a player than Tendulkar and was the original politician of Indian cricket. Search for 'Gavaskar throws toys out of the pram' in Youtube for one example. Because of Gavaskar's ego, India had to forfeit that match which it was winning.

Do you know that Gavaskar's average is 51 in Tests but he averaged less than 44 in his last 4 years?

Do you know that Gavaskar was a burden in ODIs and blocked the entry of youngsters like Sidhu.

Just dont speak against icons like tendulkar to get attention.

yes, Tendulkar is not blocking the entry of any youngsters. how dare you talk against an icon like Tendulkar given his average is still in two digits, same as Don Bradman, again two digits.

the real point is that any player should be retained/included/rested based on his near present form and not what he has done 5 years or so ago.

really? are you talking of gavaskar or bradman?

besides for somebody who scored at around 65-70 runs per innings against the best attack of that time (WI) his overall average just a little over 50 runs does not make sense...he should certainly have scored at least 90 runs average against other teams when considering his average against wi..
