by sujay on May 13, 2010 04:13 PM  | Hide replies

Now someone tell me, when Ganguly was bit weak against Short ball, everyone was behind him. Now u have so many players who can not play short ball, but no one bothered to rake up the issue.

Now it is going to be issue. Our BCCI is dakkan....interested more in milking money as compare to picking talent for country.

For West Pitches....
by TARUN VERMA on May 13, 2010 04:11 PM  | Hide replies

Batsman should be like Sachin, Dravid, Laxman, Raina, Gambhir, Dhoni - who pick the short ball at very last moment, and not panic like Jadeja, Murli Vijay.

Bowlers should be like - Bhajji and Nehra, not like Jadeja fails to check the length.

And our Board should be like Australian one - pick those, who shows commitment towards game not toes lickers like Mulayam singh Yadav and Laloo Yadav.

There is no sensible responses here
by mira on May 13, 2010 04:08 PM  | Hide replies

This forum has now been taken over by Dhoni haters.

As long as IPL divides the fans left, right and middle, there is no hope for Indian cricket.

English fans dont do this even though EPL is such a successful tournament.

There is hatred filled in each one of us that we cannot react to the loss. In fact most of the messages seem to be gleeful for the loss suffered by India because you can stick it on Dhoni.

By the way, I am certainly not a Dhoni fan. I am Indian fan.

Are Dost !! it is not fault of Dhoni, remember when Cricket Board runs by Political Party, not by a Sports Person. It is fault of BCCI. Remove Sharad Pawar.

Main Problem--Selfish, Coward Dhobhi
by LG on May 13, 2010 04:04 PM

Failures of Indian team in last two T20WCs are the expected results from this Indian team,
because media and fans in India encouraged mediocrity by hyping mediocre players like Dhobi.

Also, If the captain of the Indian team is coward, selfish you do not get expected results.

Dhobi was hyped just because

-he won first T20WC, without Sachin and Dravid, by fluke

-and few meaningless bilateral series ( NZ, SRL WI players and their board consider these series as PAID sight seeing tour or relaxation at work in home countries).

Srikant-Dhoni nexus
by Mukesh Kumar on May 13, 2010 04:04 PM

Shrikant and Dhoni have formed a nexus to not select players not liked by Dhoni viz. Uthappa, Irfan, Ojha, Manish Pandey etc. Dhoni has his own favourites - Harbhajan, Zaheer, Yuvraj, Gambhir.

Dhoni should go as well as Srikant .... then see India's chances taking a turnaround.

There is no doubt that Dhoni is a VERY BAD Captain. He is only a creation of the media. Not sending Yusuf up the order and persisting with Jadeja were blunders .... can somebody do away the arrogance Dhoni carries with him???? For India's sake .... if BCCI is listening .... let's do it now.

Dear Friend, first is selection panel (BCCI). If you remember Irfan Pathan used to no. 1 bowler, before he lost his entire confidence at West Indies Tour some 2 year back under Chappal (Chu...ya aadmi).

West Indies pitches requires veteran batsman like Sachin, Dravid, Ganguly & blistering like Sehwag. Youngster likes Manish Pandey, Viral Kohli shows the way but not picked by BCCI. Because BCCI is concentrating more on IPL earnings.

Boss,
Dravid is definitely not retired, and Schin has opted out and can atleast be invited/requested... and when its the nation's pride at stake... he will never back out... I have seen this for 20 years from the first ball he faced till date... Its the Gen Next arrogance that they never request these guys...

Being practical also includes not being arrogant and complacent... do you think these idiots who somehow just see-off the steyns, Nannis etc in IPL and that too on taylor made placid tracks, just to hammer the rookies and spinners... genuinely have the technique... IPL is just about glorified club cricket where you get a lot of breathing space and tonnes of hype for falsely glorious knocks against overall bowling attack which is way below Internation T20 Class... As for talent Raina and Rohit Sharma have it... Sharma is better against swing/seam and bounce (Blazing 84 against 150 K Aussies at Barbados)... Raina definitly has the talent to develop the technique... but the bottom line is that these guys get themselves into a coplacent mode thinking success in IPL implies success at I'tnl level... when the truth is that there is a canyon of a gap between the two levels...

lack of co-ordination
by sai krishna on May 13, 2010 03:53 PM  | Hide replies

It appears there is no co-ordination between Dhoni and rest of the team and there might be different groups within the team.
2) Too much dependence of Jadeja, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Vinay kumar became sitting duck for five matches.
3) Last two World cup matches after IPL and schedule is not planned properly keeping in mind the World Cup, IPL matches should have been completed at least 15 to 20 days before the world cup.
4) Biggest of the all the problems is Money, If a player is selected to represent an IPL team whether he is in playing 11 or not he gets 24 lakhs per year. And the 15 players who choosen to play will have 24 lakhs Match fee Rs.5 lakhs per match. It is good idea for upcoming players who need money to horn their skills but in case of established players it is a bonus.
5) If Dhoni gets 75 crores in an year through advertisement why should he bother to play cricket. The advertisement by players should be banned, they are not allowed to earn money other than cricket.
6) The amount of money cricters are getting if only half of the money will be pumped to any other sport like Hockey, Foot Ball or Tennis, Badminton, Athelitics, Boxing, Wrestling we could have won lot of gold medals in any of these sports.

Dear Bro, BCCI & Crimple mouth is also responsible for this. Always fails in final hurdle, which is not good for country, knowns as "Hub of Cricket".

BCCI should concentrate more on players instead of IPL earnings.

Best Method....
by TARUN VERMA on May 13, 2010 03:50 PM

No IPL like tournament for Team India along with big International Series. Give them break.

India has variety, it has places like West Indies and cool places like England. Get them trained under such conditions for one month. And players for God sake, forget egos & issues with each other. Put country first boss!! from top of Sehwag to last man Nehra. All are match winners. It is responsibility of BCCI to concentrate more on players and playing conditions instead of mingling into politics.

And finally A Cricket Board shall be ruled by Crickter, not by any Crimple mouth 'Guy'.

Y so much hue and cry?
by sdfgdfsgdfg dfgdfgsdfg on May 13, 2010 03:45 PM  | Hide replies

1. Winning n loosing r part of game n sparts. Unfortunately, in a game, only 1 team wins, and the other only looses. Let's b sporting, and for heaven's sake let's stop attaching so much of importance and heart to it, failure of which only gives U heart-attacks, let alone heartburns.
It shud b like Australians play - Play with head, not with heart.
Media (especially the Hindi TV News channels) needs to exercise restraint in showering praises in the event of a win, and stop bashing the cricketers up upon a loss. Media indeed behaves very very irresponsibly. Come on this is jus a game, notta war.

2. Again, its jus a T20 game yaar - this nyway is jus not Cricket. there r so many other facets to the T20 stuff, that the Cricketing elemnt in it jus reduces the game to a rubble. Sp, let's stop crying and jus enjoy the game. Let's b true fan of the game, let's b sporting...
