Sehwag gets docked 20% for "excessive appealing" while the Prince (Lara) gets away scott free for a 15-minute argument fiasco. Way to go ICC!!!

Double standards

A glaring case of double standards again. So there's fine for Sehwag but nothing at all for Lara's rude behaviour with the umpires? This is the height of hypocrisy.

sewag fined.

This is stupid and double standard. lara was allowed to go scot free when he committed a bigger offence by snatching the ball from umpire. Better this double standard of punishing sub-continent playaers be stopped or apply the law uniformaly to everybody.

Sehwage fined for over-appealing
by Sasidharan on Jun 08, 2006 10:20 AM

The whole world saw what happened on the last ball of the Indian second innings. There was not even an semblance of admonition on the part of ICC on the Windies captain's unruly behaviour of SNATCHING THE BALL.
Highly dignified and respected organization like ICC again resorted to double-standards. Its high time that the Indians start getting fair deal from the ICC. Whether it is Ganguly, Sehwag or Bhajji we are always at fault. But Slaters and Laras goes unnoticed.

Sehwag fined/ Lara, what about him?
by Amit Gupta on Jun 08, 2006 10:15 AM

If sehwag is fined like this, Lara should have been banned, because he had the indecency to ask the batsman to walkout. What kind of rules are these? Is anyone awake?

WHY
by Sanjiv on Jun 08, 2006 10:08 AM

Why was sehwag fined when Lara was left scott free. This shows the differential treatment for Asian nations. If Sehwag is fined, then fine Lara also ?
