I live in bangalore near lalbagh west gate. Nearby, there is a place called V.V.Puram circle. You find all southindian food like Dosa, idli etc., chaats and splecial snacks which we don't find in hotels. They are tasty and people visit quite often. prices are cheap. Only problem is many are in the open.
I basically belong to Ahmednagar from the state of Maharashtra. Today I am going to share with you the gastronomic expirience of one of the very maharashtrian delicacy named"Misal"
Ahmednagar is one of the known historic city. In the Dane dabara area there is a very small food joint named " Rasraj" owned by Ramseth the creator of the Misal. The joint is so small that can accomodate only 6-8 people on benches kept around an old wooden table
Misal is the combination of Sprouts cooked in a very spicy yet thin gravy called tarry & served with chivada, sev , cut onions & Corriander. A small piece of lemon is served. This is to be consumed with Pav.
It opens at 7.30 am & people are in waiting since 7.00 am forming a que. Cost is very small 10 /- per plate with one pav. You get extra tarry at no extra cost . Additional pav costs 1 /- each. Additional chivada costs 3/- only. It is out of world expirience in Rs.15/- only . Many people park their cars & have it on bonnet.
I am having the food since my college days & nothing has been changed . Whenso ever I am passing through the city I make the point to have a bite there even today(almost 25 years now)
I am living in bhopal and is very fond of veg-food. Near to my house is a sardarjis shop on road who himself if from ambala with his 4 workers. He has a shop for Amritsari Kulcha and chola with it. Some Spicy chillies and some pickle with it. you have to stand in front of that shop and eat keeping your plate on his thela. He gives 1 Plate for rs.20/- But,the quality he gives for kulcha is exellent with filling of AAloo and chilies and some vegetables, and the cholas he gives are the taste only the Punjabis can prepare. His shop is in 10 no.stop market which is in arera colony, bhopal and I am staying very near to that Location. Any time you move out after 4 pm you have such good smell of cholas and tandoris kulcha .
JMC canteen! Hallelujah...thee best bhel puri, paneer rumali, noodles, chinese and more...nothing beats that place. everything for 15 or so each. at the time even tht seemed a lot. Miss it so much, almost contemplated flunking graduation so tht can have the food for one more year.
There is this place called Neelambari at Habsiguda Cross Roads Hyderabad.
Serves Tamil ( Chettinad ) food. On Banana leaf, mineral water ( i dont know whether it is indeed mineral water.. but served from those bubbles.. so ok ).
Two idlis, two parottas served with coconut chutney, sambar, chicken gravy and mutton gravy. Spicy and tasty.
All for Rs.19.
Or i could have have gone for two parottas and one Omlette. Same difference.
And you are seated and served. No rushing and standing !!
They also serve chicken Mutton etc. Good food.
Try. It is worth it. I saw lot of techies from GECIS flocking to it.

In the evening have Puchkas (Golgappas) at the crossing of Bentink Street - Waterloo Street near Amber Restaurant. I am a Puchka lover and these beat all other puchkas hollow (pun intended).
If you are a samosa lover, go to Tiwari Brothers - Kalakar Street, Burra Bazar or Circular Road near Camac Street - two samosas and two jalebies (both made in desi ghee) are enough to fill your stomach for the next 4 hours. All within Rs. 20/-.
