K iss or not to kiss - Your say
by K.R. Sreenath on Apr 20, 2006 04:39 PM  Permalink

Public exhibition of our emotions, feelings and love which is between two people is not correct. I mean one should not kiss in public, but can in their own privacy. Encroching on one's privacy like a beach corner, away from the public, by the Moral Police is not correct. Sometime our Moral Police go beyond their limits and speak or do things which is not good e.g., Valentine day incidents. I strongly feel that no one has the right to prevent another person of doing what that persons feels right, as long as it does not harm any one in particular. Dance bars - people used to go there to spend some time and relax. Dance bars did not force people to come and see the performance. We go on our own free will. No one can stop us from going to Dance Bars or seeing picture like FIRE, WATER etc., Some time ago I had said that too much of moral policing will make our country a Taliban type of country. We should never become a Taliban country.

To display affection in public or not depends on the two individual and not on a third person.
If the so called moral police wants to raise an hue and cry over every personal choice a person makes they really should find some productive work to do

until we don't have a system like west that having a girl friend or a boy friend is common it's better to avoid public display of any kind of act of provocation like movies in the mind of young people,or do not blaim the street teasing or rape cases.because provocative mind also needs someone and he can not control at times.People should understand that rights and responsibility go hand in hand.Balance has to be kept and maintained with time.So it's good that police will guard both the cases.

I agree with you Anukriti that "To display affection in public or not depends on the two individual and not on a third person".

Therefore I propose that we should be allowed to have sex with our partners on the roads and show affection to each other!!!

To be or not to be
by Prathap V P on Apr 20, 2006 04:38 PM  Permalink

Every body would like to kiss. But we must decide where to do it. I do not think public place is the right place to do it. Certain events can be kept very private and personal. More over over it is better not to provoke young mind.

I am strongly agree with your opinion SONALI ji. In my opinion our police is already an absolute perfect to harassing Women if the get chance. Now, the government has given this Wonderful chance to harassing couples whenever they find chance whether couples are kissing or sitting to share their thoughts. Once it happened in front of me, in a public park one couple was sitting and talking for a long time, two police men was watching it for a long time because the Girl was looking nice. They could not bare it and went to abuse them. The young man got up and slapped, and said she my SISTER. Now we can think how wonderfully POLICEMEN will use this law. Out law maker should think before imposing any law or take public opinion. Indian couples are more discipline than any law, we know how to behave in public places because we live with our parents and siblings. I do not think we need any law. I pity on our law makers and system in our Country. We respect our culture and it will be respected forever, but I am sure the law will be misused by Policemen. As, Sonali quoted that they should take care about the criminal activities that is worst, daily explosion.

ridiculous law
by sonali on Apr 20, 2006 04:37 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

youngsters meeting outside and showing there affections to each other through kiss is natural.
I dnt know how the relationships can grow in such a constraint environment where a girl and boy are not let free to understand all dimensions of life.
They are pressurised with all these unnecessary laws which make them wory more about being caught by police than worrying about their careers.
Why dont the police concentrate more on catching out criminals.
We live in a independent nation and if we take cultural and religious prespective I doubt if kissing is forbidden.I dnt think indian youngsters kiss on public places like western countries.
Moreover i think Police should concentrate more on other major issues in India.Running after catching love birds is just wasting Indian money by providing huge remuneration to police departments.

"a girl and boy are not let free to understand all dimensions of life."

In order to understand all dimensions of life, do you have to smooch eachother or kiss in public? To hell with the younger generation.

yes YOu are absolutely right...

Now Govt has no otherwork except to catch Love birds...Our cops are frustrated everybody knows that..And due to this law they will leave all other works and will try everytime to catch a pair in liplocking conditions...

there are alot of cases which have to solve by our cops not this.. and one thing more in this deptt.. frustrated type of cops will try to get in coz they can make money and can get benefitted if pair don't know there rights.. cops will try to get the gals in there bed, whome they will catch...I am sure about this I know some examples of this incident and also know the mentality of these bloddy indian cops...

Looks like people are lot more interested in Kissing their partner rather then concentrating on their career and studies.

There could be more ways of showing your love/affection towards your partner, and yes kissing is one of them... then why not do it in private rather then doing it in public.

You say that you "dont know how the relationships can grow in such a constraint environment..."

Well tell me did not your parent grow relationship "in such a constraint environment". Did they not make love and the as the result of which you were born? So how do you NOT UNDERSTAND that relationships can grow even in "such a constraint environment"!

As for worrying about careers! Ha Ha Ha !!! If you are really worried about your "career" you wouldn't be kissing around in parks and roads! Instead you would be thinking about your "career".

You are asking the police to catch criminals, well they will be doing EXACTLY that when they will catch people kissing! Because after all kissing on the roads will be a CRIME when the law is passed and those doing it will be CRIMINALS!!! Do you understand LOGIC?

Even if the fines are 500 it can still be settled with 50 Rs. But my take on this issue, kissing in public is not as bad as what comes on TV in so called remix albums. will there be any ban on those? On a lighter note, I think that government might come up with a reservation for kissing too, like reservation seats in IITs and IIMS. :)

I endorse your opinion ma'am.
Laws are more of a misuse in this part of the world in the grass root level. This lind of a law definitely propagates an extra lane of illegal income for the keepers of the "law and order" about us...
There are more things on heaven and earth to be policed on...one opines..
