moral police idiots
by dr meenal abhyankar on Apr 21, 2006 01:37 AM  Permalink

what rubbish? Why do we waste our energy like this? Why dont we tackle "problems" instead?

Poverty? Disease? Population?

And afterall we gave the world kamsutra? Why are we so ashamed of showing some affection in public?

Kissing is harmless and fun. So go ahead spread the love.

kiss in public : fight in private
by sunny on Apr 21, 2006 01:29 AM  Permalink

well the rules are meant to be broken and here comes a new source of revenue for so called moral police. However i got a more better idea.. if a couple is caught kissing in public.. than the police will have 2 choice. First one is bit economical the police man can also kiss that gal or guy ( jst in case) or the couple have to pay the fine.. Fine of rs 500 is too much .. think about poor guys ( i assume that in most cases fines will be paid by guys) who borrows money from their friend n acquitances to have a ball with their girl friends..it will be a heavy dent in their pocket.. so delhites watch it.. next time u hang out with ur gf than u should keep a Gandhi Chaap note ( rs 500 note) in reserve..

interesting topic
by saahil on Apr 21, 2006 01:20 AM  Permalink

well this is really an interesting topic i read all the messages posted by the ppl few are against saying kissing is against indian culture and few saying if couples r ready then y others bother.Iwant to put a ? to those who r against kissing in public areas now if u have a gf/bf n u have been together wid him/her for say several months or years and now u came to a point where ur sexual desires are striking ur doors. Now lets c the scenarios where You can kiss ur gf/bf at ur house highly impossible lol private places hmmm where do u find such places population is everywhere hehehe then parks ??but its public place..and after trying to find such place thru every means we wanna satiate that desire so here u decide and keeps ur culture far behind and most of the couples do this and some may move towards a serious crime to gratify their lust(optional)..

Now a ? to those who doesnt like being fined well u guys arnt leaving any place where families can go coz behind everytree we find a couple kissing heheh so i guess its better to control the crime rate rather than our decent police pretending to prove themselves and indulging themselves in such stupid activities think upon it.

To kiss or not to kiss
by Raju on Apr 21, 2006 12:57 AM  Permalink

Since more than 50% of Indian wives say that violence is a normal part of family life, rather than discouraging a little affection the government should try to encourage husbands. Maybe this is just another futile way to try to reduce the population growth.

Immature government
by Rathna kumar on Apr 21, 2006 12:53 AM  Permalink

I strongly feel that the fine is ridiculous. It's upto an individual to decide what he wants to do. By kissing, I don't think they hamper the society in any way. And the whole small-talk about the Indian culture being forgotten is baseless.

Oh come on! Grow up!

to Kiss or not?
by Kaarthik on Apr 21, 2006 12:32 AM  Permalink

I think kissing in public definitely need not be considered an offense. If the public objects to it, Maybe they are jealous-people who wouldnt have kissed in public.

It is just a question of the society not to behave outfashioned, but also to embrace and respect love in-the-air.

Thanks

KISS UNDER A CARDBOARD BOX!
by Anirban on Apr 21, 2006 12:26 AM  Permalink

i think someone should try this - even better a large group of college goes: This is would be definitely fun thing and guaranteed to draw media attention.

1>Gather up 40-60 college buddies (~20-30 couples) who will be ready to risk Rs500 but will definitely make a statement. 2>go to some big public place, somewhere there are a lot of people and particularly busy during the afternoon. (a good idea is to call up some news agencies to make it an nice show and I am sure this will be front page picture next day). 3>Carry moderate size card board boxes like those that comes with TV sets or music systems. Now, go in public and each couple should put one box over their head so that people can just see two heads inside one box and has no clue whats happening inside. Now stay like that for a few minutes and do it simulaneously (dont giggle inside, but can make a few noises if you want!). And pray a policeman sees you. Now if you get caught then the police has to prove that you were kissing. Even if you did then, no one has actually seen it! Anyway if things get out of hand just pay the Rs500 to take a receipt!) and make it a big news and fight this talibani menace.
