Figures stating that over 90% of gazetted posts and professionals In Tamilnadu were Brahmins in 1920's and 1930's are repeated without any substantiation. While their share was more than 3% (which is alleged to have been their share in the population), it was nearer 15%, and nowhere near 90%. If they had obtained university degrees, it was from institutions which were predominantly managed by non-Brahmins. So they did not stand in the way of others getting educated or getting degrees. Have you heard of this "Lies, damned lies, Satistics". Just quoting some figures and percentages gives a look of authenticity to what one says. In this country we do not even know the correct population figure. Govt does not know for certain howmany are employed by it today leave alone their religion etc and that too 50-60 years ago. One have to laugh it off as a joke.
