Figures stating that over 90% of gazetted posts and professionals In Tamilnadu were Brahmins in 1920's and 1930's are repeated without any substantiation. While their share was more than 3% (which is alleged to have been their share in the population), it was nearer 15%, and nowhere near 90%. If they had obtained university degrees, it was from institutions which were predominantly managed by non-Brahmins. So they did not stand in the way of others getting educated or getting degrees.
